Prop management can be complicated. I made up some small packet tricks with giant cards. They work perfectly. But I thought it would be great if absolutely no table is necessary. So I looked for waistcoats where I can put giant cards into the pockets. And I found standard waistcoats that have pockets that are big enough: http://www.mytuxedo.co.uk/mens/formalwear/waistcoats/ I am located in Germany so I bought my waistcoats from the German website: http://www.meinsmoking.de/
The poly dupion waistcoat http://www.mytuxedo.co.uk/black-poly-dupion-waistcoat/ looks like Thai silk. The other colors have the same design and sizes. The quality is great. And the pockets can easily hold giant cards - I use Piatnik which are 11.7 cm wide and 17.8 cm high. The waistcoat pockets are 8.0 cm deep and 12.5 cm wide. So I can use all that great tricks from Nick Trost or John Bannon and perform standing. I perform effects like "The muleshoe gambler" or "The royal scam". For all waistcoats there are handkerchiefs available with the same fabric http://www.mytuxedo.co.uk/mens/accessories/handkerchiefs/ I also bought a handkerchief with the same fabric and added welt pockets in both upper breasts of the waistcoat. So now all 4 visible pockets have the same design. I also added hidden pockets for stealing items but that is another story. |
