Just finished watching Hard Times starring Charles Bronson. A dandy little film. What's your favorite fight flick?

Ha! As I was clicking on the thread the first one to pop into my head was "Hard Times". I just saw it again myself a few weeks ago. I still think "Rocky" is right up there as well.

I don't know how old Bronson was when he made "Hard Times" but he's over 50 I believe and in amazing shape.

'Best of the Best', 'Bloodsport', 'Karate Kid I and II'.

What can I say? I'm a martial artist. Smile

"Fight Club". It's not classic fight/boxing film, but it's a good one..

Otherwise "Diggstown" with Lou Gosset Jr, James Woods and Bruce Dern is a great little boxing/con man film that's not well know but good.

Requiem for a Heavyweight.

Honorable mentions: Rocky, Raging Bull, and Diggstown.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

All of Bruce Lee's movies.

Even the cheap campy ones. Smile

Enter the Dragon would be right up there on my short list. I was focused on boxing exclusively.

I agree with Lobo's choices, but I would add Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler."

Ong Bak. Awesome movie, amazing fight sequences.
My mom was Brandon Lee's third grade teacher so I guess I'll list his stuff too, even though I've never seen any of it.

The Ip Man movies are my favorites at the moment.

Those who enjoyed Ong Bak check out Chocolate with Jeeja Yanin, was done by the same people. The choreography is amazing in that one.

Surprised no one's mentioned "Cinderella Man."

Bronson was over 50 when he made Hard Times and passed away about 10 years ago. I always thought that was one of his better movies.

My favorite is Cinderella Man, but Hard Times is up there.

She is going to co-star with Tony Jaa in The Protector 2 (aka Tom Yum Goong 2).

Awww, you beat me to it Motown. Charles was 81 when he passed away on August 30, 2003.

As I'm typing this I just re-read Marlin's post and realized that I THINK he was saying that Bronson was over 50 when he made Hard Times. At first read, I thought he was saying that Bronson was currently over 50 and in amazing shape! LOL

I'm with Pakar on Bloodsport and all the Bruce Lee stuff, and also On the waterfront as mentioned by ringmaster is classic gang violence at it's best. but if you want real classic boxing then look no further than Paul Newman in the Rocky Marciano Story!

I believe you are thinking of "Somebody Up There Likes Me" (1956) in which Paul Newman portrayed Rocky Graziano. (He was a bit small to have played Marciano.)

A great film.

I like Cinderella Man, but it was a bit unnecessarily rude to Max Baer's memory.

As an aside, Graziano and Tony Zale's in-ring trilogy was one of the best sports rivalries ever.
