The fact that you think there is a side is a huge part of the problem.

No idea what 'our' side is when we have yet to see any options beyond fear mongering and smug pandering to fear mongers.
Got better tech? You promoting a modest nuclear option? What terror do you support?

After 48 pages of back and forth, you don't think there is a side? Funny....You all can't even agree there is a side, let alone which side is right. Too much. You guys are *** amusing. |

Hey POPS ... What's the correct temperature? What is the correct seas level? When will we be there? How much do we reduce? Inquisitive minds want to know?

@overworked, so far there are climate terrorists attempting to cause panic. Some folks don't see attempting to use climate to justify huge spending with likely military involvement. Or what? Justified by what? Are you a historical denier?

What is the correct depth of the sea? " I'll take the one that doesn't put New York City under water. Slim, can I ask if you have children? I often suspect that those with no children are less concerned with the effects of global climate change than those that do. |

If it would prevent New York from getting flooded ...what would you sanction? Some folks don't see attempting to use climate to justify huge spending with likely military action as our best option. As with any plan... Or what? Justified by what? Are you a historical denier? Come on, admit you wanna feel justified and wear a green armband, telling others what to do. Stop denying your inner bully. Man up to save the future. So what if a few regressive and intellectuals need to be swept away to make room for the better future? It's your duty to save the world. Cue "tomorrow belongs to me" as folks put on brown shirts of Eco-friendly fabric and the planetary protector blue - green armbands. It's not terrorism if you win the war, right? At least that's what history offers as an example. Is that the example you wish to follow?

It's not like our current activities are making friends of the local average joes who live in Africa or the middle east. Some of the blowback is happening in our country. About a decade ago we addressed the "State of Fear" story and strategy. Back then also mentioned nuclear weapons use and its side effects on the climate. Other than telling our neighbors what to do and enforcing that... what do you suggest?

There's a huge generational change in family togetherness happening in the last decade. Depending on your age you might find some surprises in our demographic for who's living with who - going back to having three generations in the house it seems. While we're looking at family values... Take a good look at your neighbors and their children. And their pets. And the last forty years might come into focus for you. There's a law that just took effect where folks can bring their best friends (really, their dogs) into restaurants. This is not about seeing-eye dogs or service dogs but rather about pets.

I'm sorry Jonathan, I'm sure it is just my unfamiliarity with the way you express yourself, but I've read your last two posts 3 or 4 times, and I can't make any sense of them. I honestly don't know what you are saying or trying to get at. I'm sure it is my failing, but I'm clueless what you are trying to communicate to me.

@Overclocked, folks,
We, as a society, have a habit of ramping up for causes and then imposing stuff on others. We also have a long history of fraudulent science and ill founded beliefs used to motivate or justify poor behavior. I'd like for us to do better.

All magicians ought to admire this great illusion we call global warming. It has even fooled great magicians. Maybe if we applaud those who performed it they will take a bow and leave the stage.
