A fact is progress is good. The rest is distraction to stop progress.

We need to move forward. Yes the how we do it can be debated, but to debate forward progress seems pretty idiotic.

Yes good change the debate and not waste time on dumb stuff that hurts. If man affects his environment is a pretty silly debate. We HAVE to. As to what degree can be debated amungst reasonable people. How to impact it the least can be debated. Whether we do or not is a silly thing to get roadblocked on for SOOOO long.

And the Democrat party is the ONLY party wanting to control more of our lives through their false agenda of GW.

And there is no possible way a conservative group like the Republicans would have a pro-industrial agenda to deny GW?

There is, as RNK well knows, NO SUCH THING as the "Democrat" party. That is a pejorative used almost exclusively by right wing extremists.

"Democrat" is a noun, not an adjective. Does he call his own party the "Republic" party?

Not surprising that RNK refused to address any of the links I provided and instead resorted to this sort of name-calling instead.

This thread could use a few more childish jokes to counteract the childish arguments!

Global warming was originally theoretical but it became a virtual reality in 1984.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Funny how you are so hypocritical Bob. Makes me smile. I'm not responding because I realized it's pointless to argue a scientific theory with people who are not formerly educated in the subject.

Also, Democrat as seen here: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=democrat

Democrat is NOT a pejorative, google is your friend Bob, it's simply a nickname or in your fancy lawyer words an epithet.

Do some research yourself. "Democrat Party" has been used as a pejorative at least fifty years. It hasn't been in use as a simple regional variant since the 1950's.

The name of the party is the Democratic Party.

Quote:
"Democrat Party" is a political epithet used in the United States for the Democratic Party. The term has been used in negative or hostile fashion by conservative commentators and members of the Republican Party in party platforms, partisan speeches and press releases since at least 1940.[1]

Multiple reasons are suggested for the use of the term. A 1984 New York Times article suggested Republicans began to use the term when Democrats used their own party name to imply that "they are the only true adherents of democracy".[2] Republicans "feared that 'Democratic' suggested Democrats [had] a monopoly on or are somehow the anointed custodians of the concept of democracy".[3] New Yorker commentator Hendrik Hertzberg wrote, "There’s no great mystery about the motives behind this deliberate misnaming. 'Democrat Party' is a slur, or intended to be—a handy way to express contempt. Aesthetic judgments are subjective, of course, but 'Democrat Party' is jarring verging on ugly. It fairly screams 'rat.'"[4] Political analyst Charlie Cook attributed modern use of the term to force of habit rather than a deliberate epithet by Republicans.[5] Ruth Marcus stated that Republicans likely only continue to employ the term because Democrats dislike it.[6] Marcus stated that disagreements over use of the term are "trivial",[6] and Hertzberg calls use of the term "a minor irritation" and also "the partisan equivalent of flashing a gang sign".[4]

Similar two-word phrases using "Democrat" as an adjective have been deemed controversial when used as a substitute for "Democratic" (as in "Democrat idea"); National Public Radio has banned the use of "Democrat" as an adjective.[7] The term "Democrat Party" was in common use with no negative connotations by Democrats in some localities during the 1950s.[8] The Dictionary of American Regional English gives numerous examples of "Democrat" being used as an adjective in everyday speech, especially in the Northeast.[9]

Such a highly educated man as yourself has certainly heard about this.
