Glad you're entertained. But as you know, I am not religious. I do enjoy the discussions though, and I like hearing other's perspectives. Smile Do you?

Only way I can learn is with other perspectives. Can you?

It seems as if all you think is everyone disagreeing with you is an idiot. How can you learn that way?

Science is about getting to accurate predicted measures and elegant models. Confidence is not the same as Faith.

For rhetorical purposes... sentiment still seems to trump reason - as evidenced by the Monte hall discussions.

All the climate hysterics here are self-confessed muggles in the field of climate science and yet they forever run around telling everybody who is and who is not a credible climate expert in the field and when we ask them how it’s done, we get no rational answer but talk of prestige.

prestige (n.) Look up prestige at Dictionary.com

1650s, "trick," from French prestige (16c.) "deceit, imposture, illusion" (in Modern French, "illusion, magic, glamour"), from Latin praestigium "delusion, illusion" (see prestigious). Derogatory until 19c.; sense of "dazzling influence" first applied 1815, to Napoleon.

I beg to differ. If you can't see the difference between a secular evidence-based model and, say, a model based on Sharia Law such as in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, etc., then you truly have blinders on.

Really? You disagree with me quite a bit and I don't consider you an idiot. Maybe it's projection on your part. Just sayin'. Smile

This was intended as more of a joke. BUT the lengths true believers of any stripe will go to in order to confirm their opinion is staggering.

The weak scientific case, that links global warming and other planetary maladies to increases in carbon dioxide levels, is so weak that there is far more convincing evidence for the Gods.

Hmmm. I quoted your post so it should have been apparent.

Whatever.

It will be interesting to see the demographics in those elections. I'd bet that if a scientist ran for president you'd get the same breakdown as Nov. 2016.

When you think of Egypt as a desert, then we will know the Nile floods.

So it is written so let it be done.
