I'm still confused. This is or isn't gimmicked?! If it's not and it's impromptu like some people have been saying, then why refills? And if it's gimmicked, how many gimmicks come with the effect? How many with the refill? I'm assuming they're one use each if it's gimmicks.

Completely different, although, you will be tearing cards out so you need to get them refilled eventually, lol, but for the gaff system refill you must buy the gaff refill deck (which is $12 for 52 cards), the anglez one I assume you can use any normal playing cards.

Ahh. That makes much more sense. So is this impromptu then?

How difficult is this for an absolute beginner in cards? I like the effect, but wonder if I have the dexterity in my hands to ever be able to perform it.

I bought Angle Z DVD and performed with bicycle. Then bought refill pack and artifice deck from Ellusionist. I used artifice deck to just melt into the back. Both are great. Does anyone have thoughts on using artifice deck, to find the corner and then melt into the back of the card or is that too much? Also, does anyone know if there are any plans for more outcome variety in the artifice deck refills?

Wow... I've been doing this trick and didn't even know what it was called lol? I might have to buy this. I've made the torn corner appear in many places. But I'd love to look into how to load it under a watch. That would be awesome.

Not blaming anyone for anything, but that does seem to be a very 21st century magic situation...somebody performing a trick that they can't even identify. I do appreciate you being brave enough to admit it, though! I've probably been guilty of this too over the years. |

Sorry to bring up an old thread but just came across this. I might be missing something, but would someone not simply deduce that it was p*****d before the f **** t***? The first part looks convincing, but if they thought about it at all afterward I can't imagine them not coming to this conclusion.

Actually it's more indicative of a time long gone. In the days of no internet. Magicians at maci clubs would teach tricks to members, they wouldn't know the name of the trick.
I don't think its a bad thing. James Quote: On Sep 17, 2014, ricklaxmagic wrote:

I perform it all the time ... and usually Justin Miller's handling of the torn corner appearing between their hands. Did it in Greece a few weeks ago and won €120 of free drinks, so it's paid for itself many times over with just that one performance.
