My long-time friend Simon Lovell has been on the mend. For the last 7 days, he's been in the intensive care / trauma unit in Queens, after falling and breaking his right leg in three places. Titanium rods were inserted through several procedures, and when I spoke with him he still had the morphine drip going. Simon always sounds like that, though.

Anyway, he's not going to be hopping about for a good long while. If you'd like to mail him a Get Well card:

Thanks for the news Randy. It's good to know that the "head lemming" is on the mend. I'll have to send him some weird get well card. Smile

;) I think that I can airmail one.

Besides, I owe him one: I need to scan his autograph on my copy of Simon Says. The thing is, The Café would censor 99 percent of the content - it's a very "interesting" drawing." Though I have to say that Simon does have a sort of Picasso approach - post Guernica - that I find oddly fascinating. Smile

Thank you again Randy for the news on Simon. While that is a serious injury, thank God it was a lot worse.

Yes, it would have been a great shame had it only been a paper cut.

The errors of typographic omissions; I meant thank God is was NOT worse - but then, you knew that Randy. But, thanks for pointing it out.

Actually, as I told Simon, it would have been far better if he managed to land on his skull: that is the only part of his body that I'd consider truly impervious.

Hi all,

Hi all, I finally have sporadic-mail times etc on the hospital computer so will be able to pop in from time to time. Thank you to those who have posted best wishes etc ... it really does mean a lot to know that folks care!

Best wishes to all,

Long-John Simey!
