I have known Chris Gould for a few years and can say that everything I have ever purchased from him is not only top of the line art but the service is awesome.
with that in mind Chris has set out to create a unique deck of cards for us, all the art work is ornigional Chris. I like the looks of the deck and feel that it will fit well in my collection so I figured I would share it with you guys as well.

the kickstarter add

With the Kadar Deck, we have broken with tradition and produced a truly original deck of cards.

We want our cards to look like nothing that you have seen before; this is a deck of cards that instantly stands out from the 'pack'.

We draw inspiration from the diversity of design throughout the history of playing cards. From the colourful pictorial cards of the 18th Century and the cards carried across Europe by the travelling fortune tellers.

Our cards look colourful and intriguing. The design of the cards reflects the strange fortune telling cabinets that lurk in the shadows of old amusement arcades, the vivid picture cards we collected as kids and the graphic style of 'Silver Age Comics'. Our cards look vibrant and entertaining, but also hint at a deeper meaning beneath the surface.

Who are these cards aimed at?

The Card Collector. It is unlikely that you will have such a striking, original and unique deck of cards in your collection yet. Put the Kadar deck out on a table with a few other decks and see which one draws the eye.

The Magician. As these are a full set of poker cards on the best Bicycle stock, you can use them to perform standard card magic. In addition, we show you how you can take your magic to the next level; investing a simple trick with meaning and a personal connection to your audience.

The Social Animal. Our cards are aimed at simply making you the most interesting person in any group with something that will draw the eye and everyone's attention. We guarantee it! Also if you put a dime in the cabinets, the cards do something strange and mysterious; something that will draw a crowd of interested onlookers.

The world already has more than enough deck designs that look nothing like what an audience would expect to be "real" playing cards, and for that reason I'm out.

Here's a deck of playing cards made for the "world," not magicians. It sounds like they look like what you say they wouldn't look like.

With all due respect, that's the reason these cards stand out. They are not "real" playing cards, and should not be introduced as such. These are special. Very special.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

This is a great looking deck for magicians and readers alike. They remind me of the Zoltar Fortune Telling Machines and can even be introduced as such. To state that the world already has enough playing cards that don't look like your standard generic playing card is limiting yourself to a smaller world without future vision and possible new standards. Not every one wants to be pigeon-holed and close-minded.

Options are almost always good. I don't like *all* the decks that are coming out, but I very much appreciate having all of the options.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

I too backed this and am growing a bit tired of the lack of communication, even if its just to say that its delayed.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

I can't help but think that all the add ons have complicated what was a simple kickstarter project.
