Someone mentioned earlier in the thread about the e]. will the routine work with a cut down coin and shell so the whole edge of the coin is covered and will all the coins have to be cut down in order to perform this as a whole. My experience with expanded's is that specs can tell right away that something doesn't look right if the mouth of an expanded on a coin is pointing up, if you know what I mean?

Though the expanded supplied with the dvd is good, if you really want to do this routine often I'd have a set made so all the coins are the same size when stacked.
The comments saying the routine is very easy seem a bit exaggerated to me. Though the moves are not necessarily very difficult the routine requires solid audience management. The challenge is to maintain control over what the spectator does without it sounding like you are giving precise instructions, in fact I think your whole attitude should come across as "you can do whatever you want". Luckily Garrett gives great advice and goes into detail on the subtleties on how to do this, making the package a great training tool with many valuable lessons. The way the effect is presented is also fantastic and you can tell garrett has worked on this for a long time, some very solid lines and the timing is great. After working with the routine for a couple of weeks now I feel very happy. It is a lot of fun to perform and the dynamics are different then most other routines. Done correctly it plays very strong. Thanks Kozmo and Garrett for the quality work. |

There are advantages to using an ex ] like the one included, one reason being it's easier for the spectator removing the coin off the stack in the 2nd phase, and a big one being the extra expense. Plus, just an easier set-up and less chance of error as any of the 4 coins will work. If it gets damaged or lost, it's easier to replace the ] because it is a standard dealers item. And you only have one item to worry about and not a matching set of two. But that being said, if I had both sets just sitting in front of me I may choose to use the one you suggested. But I'm still not sure without looking at them side by side that having one coin smaller is more deceptive than one larger. Depends on the quality and workmanship I guess. Also, I really like leaving them with the 4 totally regular coins in their hands. |

I have been using this for some time now, and no one has ever seen the gimmick. I really like that it uses a very common gimmick. The instruction on audience management to make this work is just superb! This has become part of my favorite go to coin routines.

This is one of the sickest coin routines I have ever seen I am comfortable with sleights at this point. Yes the sleights are not crazy hard but they are not super easy either what I mean by that is that to be accurate and smooth every time will take practice to make it look as smooth as Garrett but doable. When I practice this it brings a smile to my face Garrett has truly created a gem.

Videoman those are valid points. I guess it's just important to make sure they hold their hand low enough and only look from the sides at the right times.

The coin I recieved is very good, I can't imagaine a spectator seeing any difference in the coins. It's so good that I've fooled myself with it. I picked mine up at magic live.

I own Kohlers 3 fly, 3cm and other coin routines that came on the DVD's but they all fade away to just a trick, granted some very good, but still they comes across as a trick. That could reflect my skill level, but still. This is without a doubt the most wonderful coin effect I've come across. So much room to enhance the script and the best thing, it's a beautiful piece of magic. Yes magic, not a trick. Done as intended, people are truely amazed. Beautiful coin routine

With good presentation, and clean sleight of hand, this looks just like a real magic, beatiful closer for coin routines.

Little warning to those who buying it from oversees. The package come with only coin gimmick, and set of regular coins is not included. I currently leave in Hong Kong, and local magicshops do not have new quorters in stock, so I had to order mine online. Till my order arrives will use borrowed quarters from my friend.

Boydoy: You might want to check out "Shell Shocked" from Mark Mason. His e***** s**** is so deep that a spectator wont notice anything, it doesn't matter if the coin lies up or down.

I have finally been able to watch this entire dvd start to finish plus all the little extras GT added. I agree the routine isn't hard to learn ....its absolutely crowd control, timing of the suggested moves and of course the spec you decide to perform for. The extra effect "Jump" is also very intriguing and explained well. Eric Jones does his "Coins Across/Impossible Coins" and weighs in some great insight to GT's lessons. I'll rate this dvd a solid 5 ***** everything is exactly how it is sold in the trailer and nothing falls short of brilliant thinking and execution by GT. Great work. =]

Is there any editing from 1:30 of the trailer to 2:00 of the trailer? This is where the spectator actually gives him back a coin (heh) and it is vanished.
I realize what the spectator is giving back, but I don't see how he is vanishing it. I can think of a couple of explanations, but none really seem to work if the video is truly an unedited performance. Of course, it could also just be that the angle is just right. I'm not looking for anyone to reveal the move, just seems a little too good so was wondering if those who have this would mind confirming that it really is this clean. Thanks. |
