Hello everyone... Not sure where to put this (as it isn't a review or anything, yet it deals with the Internet).
I have the ability to buy Strong Magic from someone I know off the Internet. What is a reasonable price to pay? Thank you for your input |

50 dollars is about right.

Check out Denny and Lee. I bought Mine about a year ago. I think it was in the $30-$50 range.

Hmm... they don't have it anymore
Thanks for the price tips! Oh, one more question. Is it going to be re-released sometime this year (2004)? I've heard something about that but haven't been able to confirm that statement. |

Richard hasn't actually stated publicly where I've seen whether or not he's going to reprint it any time soon. There was some question recently about whether or not he still even retains the publishing rights, but that's not been confirmed one way or another. I guarantee you this much: if I had the opportunity to assume the publishing rights, I'd do it in a New York second. (And I really mean that.) Darwin told me a week or two ago that "Strong Magic" was his biggest selling book. Just about everyone agrees on its importance, even if they disagree with some of its premises. So, prudence would dictate that Richard reprints it. What's the point in allowing a secondary market to unnecessarily produce such obnoxiously high prices on a book that could easily be reprinted? I'll say this, though: as soon as they hit $250 I'll sell my extra copy. John LeBlanc Houston, TX |

Perhaps he is not reprinting in order to keep the value up for the originals.
They won't be 100+ anymore if it gets reprinted in bulk. |

Richard doesn't make a nickle on the secondary market unless he's selling his own copies (which he did recently.) Kaufmann books makes a profit by selling new books. The fact that "Strong Magic" is still, after ten years, a high demand book, would suggest that whoever owns the publishing rights will reprint it. I'd almost bet on it. John LeBlanc Houston, TX |

Found one on ebay (6 days left). Bidding is at $75 right now - #2217791409. A little out of my budget right now.
