1) Be different! (There are hundreds of Magicians out there - work on your act until you are so different that you stand out from the crowd.)
2) Be magical! (The World is a dangerous place right now - with every performance, let your audience escape into the Land of Make-Believe. Don't just be a clever Manipulator - perform effects that are so amazing that they could only be done with REAL magic.) 3) Be Friendly! (Don't just perform - invite people to help with the magic - treat them like a family member, and let them leave with a small gift.) 4) Be amazed! (Have some effects that are so amazing that they astonish YOU. Let the magic happen without your intervention.) 5) Be Inviting! (Keep your best effect for the last - make them all sorry your show has ended, and make them hungry for more)

All of the above are indeed great and useful info.!! The only thing that I would mention that I have not seen is the ability to ad-lib (sp). (just in case...)!!
In December of '06 I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans. One in a million people worldwide are diagnosed with this type of cancer annually. Sarcomas account for 1% of all cancers. Knowledge is power!
