My dvd arrived ALL SCRATCHED up, so I did go through the dvd (took a while) and I cans still say that I wasn't a fan of the routines

Do you have to always tear off the sheet before it's written on?

Manchurian, no you don't, I just do it to make 1000000% sure nothing can go wrong. Mark doesn't and it works fine

Any video on the actual handling of the pad?

My gosh Jamie, I must say, all I did wrong was that I tore the paper off. He knows now.

Do you have to use the rubber band to strap in the paper? Seems very weird to rip out the page, place it on top of the book, than secure it in place with the rubber band. What is the correct handling to this routine? Anyone?

Mysticalsales, I have already answered that question, you don't have to, but he recommends it and it helps in concealing the method

Especially if you don't tear the paper out. Then it gets risky not having the band around

The correct handling is to merely flip the pad open and hand it to the spectator to write or draw on. All that messing about with the rubber band is not necessary if you know what you're doing and have experience in handling people.

As I stated previously, it was hard to perform on camera. My dvd did not work properly but I still made sure to watch it 4 times. I performed it exactly 106 times since I got it at 4 weddings, 3 private shows and a few dozen times in a few pubs and for friends. I got caught twice, but it's only because I used it so much that the "material" got out of shape. I took the video off out of respect to Mark. I just thought people would be more willing to buy it if they saw it performed. I got 7 messages today saying that thanks to me they actually bought it. 2 people had questions that I was happy to answer.
So before calling people inexperienced, think again, as some people actually take a lot of time before posting videos. If you have seen any activity from me on the Café it's mostly been me sharing my ideas on products such as Bently, The Clarity Box, the F1 nitro wallet and the Complete Peek Wallet. I take time to road test ideas because people actually take time to release things (not everyone unfortunately) and I wouldn't like anyone to perform my effects right out of the box, especially the one that might be coming out in a few months with Full 52. |

You remember that you performed it exactly 106 times?! Impressive, you should perform a super memory act with recall like that.

The recommended handling involves securing the cover in place and having the paper loose so it is easy to tear off by the participant.

Guys, we're discussing method here.
Out of respect for Mark Elsdon we should take this chat downstairs. Agreed?
