For those of you around the central Indiana area, and of course, especially around Wabash, I am sad to report the passing of Jim Snapp.
I just found out and don't have any details yet, but will be getting the Wabash paper soon with all details. I believe he was 75. I plan to go to the viewing tomorrow. What a great guy and warm personality! I fondly recall sitting at s restaurant sharing effects with him. His library show was second to none. The world of magic is hurting badly with Jim's passing. I'll tell more details when I learn them.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

I went to the viewing. The funeral home was PACKED!!
They did a beautiful display around his nightclub table, with objects he used a lot and some of his dollar bill origami. I have pictures, if anybody would like to see them.

I did not know Mr. Snapp but was reading my Linking Ring magazine yesterday and saw him pictured in a photo as part of an officer installation, and a few pages later was his Broken Wand obit. Sad.

Jim Snapp was a teacher, but his was very good, he performed a lot of magic from books like Stars of Magic. His trademark close up box was vintage Nabisco Saltines Cracker box with a handle on top.
He has a routine published in Apocalypse using the old coin slide, to vanish a coin, or change a one coin to another. Check it out, it is very good. |
