I must say, I just don't understand how this is a trick. It's methodology, sure, but I just don't seem to understand the effect, even from the ad copy. Anyone care to chime in please?

Just picked up in buyer's frenzy at Blackpool. You learn a kirigami fold for.making a little cube out f a single card and then a bunch of ideas about what to do with it.

They are basically showing you how to switch a regular card to a cube or switch backside cube to face up cube.
After seeing the video there really is not much reason to buy it. All you need to do is learn how to make the cube. Most of us should know the rest. |

Would the spectator's no just think it's a way of folding the card super quickly? It could even be achieved like that (I know it's not, but it wouldn't be impossible!)

One of the effects is indeed presented as super fast origami but it happens in a flash because in fact you are not folding it that fast and I don't think you could. It is a mysticalsale says and don't know if I would have bought unless it was just shown to me by the creator and I said "that looks cool, I'll take it for 10 BP."

So it's come to this...oh the humanity !!!
Still, on the time honoured theme of magicians flogging an effect that is just a tweak of previous effects look for me to make my fortune with : The Swan The Teapot The hat And interestingly one that, with a bit of thought might have been a better option for the creators of the cube : The Diamond : http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-diamond.html |

To anyone intrested, I created the Card Cube with the lay audience in mind. The point is not to fool magicians.
It creates a great souvenir and an ending to any card routine with a forced card and can be a routine by itself. As Xcath1 said, when you see it performed live you can appreciate the work I have put into this. It's a brand new cirigami fold of a playing card to a cube. And it's a great way to give away your business card. @ Ray Chelt, you can do the diamond you posted with a square piece of paper. Playing cards are rectangle... I hope you have fun with the card cube and keep in mind that there are other handlings involved that are not included in the trailer. Cheers Perseus Arkomanis

Well I've had this for little under a week now and I'm actually digging it! I think its a great little item. They are addictive to make and people genuinely like them. When If first started making them, regardless of the magic being added, people loved them! I was being asked to make them out of flyers and playing cards. Everyone is impressed with origami especially something is small and cute as this. They are great give-aways and so much fun to devise magic with!
don't knock this one until you've given it a go! Jamie Daws

I wouldn't knock it because it does look fun..but is it really a £10 DVD trick or shouldn't it be in a booklet with a few other tricks.

Why judge the means of ones way to express? Does it make a difference if it was a booklet or a dvd?
I think we all should answer that kind of questions after we have all the facts. Maybe it's a great Dvd. Maybe the folds are not that easy to explain in pictures and the video is a better form...yes?

I can see this being a fun piece for actual spectators. It seems easy enough to add to a card routine and I can see spectators wanting to hold and check the cube out afterwards. it is a weird piece of magic that no one has seen and would make a fun hand out.

This is a very cool idea that will fool layman and will leave them with a great souvenir to remember.
It will also not fool magicians but will catch their attention for sure! From a magician's point of view it appears simple, but the effect created is very visual. With the ideas included definitely you get more than what you pay for. Regards, Harrismatic |

The card cube is a perfect way to finish any card routine and it can be done with business cards too. I use it all the time and the reactions are perfect. I recommend this without a doubt!

I think this looks simply wonderful. I can see why some magicians might miss the point and react with a 'So what?' shrug, but it's their loss. Well done, Perseus, for coming up with this. I'm keen to learn it!

Once again I have been lucky enough to see this being performed live over a period of 4 or more years.
it was originally in use with another project but so glad its got its full worth with its own dvd...very visual and the spectator gets to keep their impossible object which is the beauty of this. Well done Perseus |
