Hi Stuart!

First of all, regarding the footage: pretty impressive Smile and you've just gotta love those high fives!

And now answering the question, I guess I was around 30. Yes, I know...

Thanks for sharing.

Stuart Palm... the video was way cool; it put a smile on my face as I was having a bad day. I loved the part where the plastic Cups stuck together and she dealt with it... well done.

I learned my first routine with the Adam's plastic Cups around 3rd grade, then revisited the Cups many years later in my teens... RNT Combo set. I caught Cup Fever again in my late 40's and have been going strong.

Thanks for sharing.

I was eleven when I first learned the basics. Forty-five when I perfected my routine.

Video was adorable. I'm really just taking up magic in now after wasting my earlier years of foolishness. Cups and balls at 65... with a passion, I might add.

I was a 6th grader with a Thomas Salter Magic Set. Wish I still had that set...

Did the Remco thing when I was a boy ('cause "every boy wants a Remco toy...and so do girls!") but I'm just embarking on the real journey now, a couple of scores later.

I was 13 when I learned a cups and balls routine from a Hugard book. I used plastic cups from a Sneaky Pete magic set, marbles as balls and pared down potatoes as the final loads, which were pinned inside my jacket. I performed for the local IBM club (Rockville Center, NY), my second time attending. On my way in, one of the potatoes dropped out of my jacket. An old-timer [I wonder who he was (this was the 1960s)] pointed to the floor and said, "You dropped your potato." The routine went over well though.

I graduated to the Vernon routine when I was 20.

I was around nine or ten when I learned a simple routine from a magic set.
I am now 52 and still trying to perfect a routine.

I am blessed. I got a set of aluminum cups at 12 while at the old Tannen's in the early '70s and no less a figure than Frank Garcia showed me some moves! Years later I took a few lessons from Steven Kradolfer and still do the modified Vernon routine he taught me.

OOOOOH! I feel deprived. I've never learned a cups & balls routine. At least, though, I have SEEN a lot of good ones, and, a FEW excellent ones.

I started at 55, 3 years back. Basically doing a small variation on the Gazzo/Vernon routine. A lot of fun and still going with it, and have a few sets of cups.

I was 5 when I first started working on it. Of course, all my routines were done with battered tin cans and teacups until I got my first proper set a few years ago.

Like Dick Oslund, I never learnt a cups and balls routine. Chop cup, yes.

But for C&B, I love watching routines which incorporate well-done Vernon wand spins.

I was 10 when I got my first Adams' Magic Set with the set of plastic cups. My second set was the spun Aluminum set that came with the original Mark Wilson Course in Magic. I was in junior high I believe when I got the course, probably in the mid 70s. I learned so much from that course and still have it on my shelf.
