Last night Mrs. landmark and myself were privileged to see a play in a small storefront venue in upstate New York about the life of Sam Cooke. The missus said that it was one of the most exciting theatrical experiences she has ever had. The young man playing Sam, a SUNY Albany music major named Quintin Piper, was superb.

Here's one of my favorites. Feel free to add your own.

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Sam Cooke!!!!!! One of my favorite songs. Sad ending to a brilliant career.I'm so jealous of you and your wife Landmark as I would have loved to see the play.

While I didn't go to a play I did get the chance to attend a conference last Thursday about street artist. I'm now a fan of Banksy.

My offering isn't about genius, but just pure off Broadway fun. Tony and Tina's wedding with former NY Mets player Lee Mazilli as Tony back in the early nineties. Great fun.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

Tony and Tina ran for a long long time--it might still be playing for all I know. It was followed by a version that took place at a funeral!

More classic Sam Cooke. That's Lou Rawls backing him:

Five years before the Righteous Brothers. I love both versions:

Who would have thought he would have written a song just for magicians?

Really, listen to this, and then ask yourself if there was ever a better singer of love songs than Sam. Reminiscent of Sinatra with Nelson Riddle.
