I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am looking for some kind of box small to medium in size not huge and not reallly a mirror box but what I want to do optimally is open the front of the box and place a small ball in the box close it up and then when I re-open it from the front 20-30 balls (around tennis ball size balls) are there now and fall out. Is there somewhere I can purchase a box like this. I really do not have a ton of tools to make one.
Thank You, Derek |

One option is the Big Top Transformation Box available from Fairchild Magic: http://fairchildmagic.com/fairchild_magic_003.htm
Its description is as follows: "This circus-styled cabinet can be used to produce, exchange or vanish items or livestock. A truly useful utility prop. The inside of the cabinet may be shown empty at any time by raising the clown panel. Approximately 12" x 7" x 8". Only thing is that you can show it empty, then place the ball into the cabinet through the top and then lift the panel and show tennis balls. However, I don't think it will fit more than 10-12 balls ---- I had bought the very same one a handful of years ago and had it redone by Michael Baker here on The Café (see below: one would never guess, right?). I haven't used this I'm a while and is in great condition. The additional grid in the front is magnetic on the top and a clever addition by Michael. I actually would consider selling this for $170 (shipping included in Continental USA), please consider the price of custom work that was done plus shipping if someone were interested. I hate to let go of this piece that Michael did a wonderful job on but am trying to downsize piece by piece. It is in excellent condition. Jimmy

You could do it with a paper bag (or shopping bag), but you'd have to do some cutting and pasting. Bag is flat and folded at start. Open the bag, show empty, drop in a ball then let it roll out into spectator's hand. Do it again but this time he gets a pile of balls that bounce around everywhere.

Small to medium size box to produce 20-30 tennis ball size balls?? Seriously??
Very few small to medium size props could hold a load that large. Million Dollar Mystery comes to mind. http://www.centralemagie.com/imprimer.php?doc=article&id=5 But, if prop size not an issue, a large Square Circle, or Pagoda (like Jimmy's) would come close. (@ Jimmy - Wow that was a long time ago! I haven't been able to get that crackle paint in many years.)
