Many years ago he starred with Peter Sellers in a fabulous movie called Trial and Error:

"Gandhi" of course was the big one. Even if the movie had been an inaccurate mess--which it was far from--we would still have great thanks to give Attenborough as "Gandhi" introduced Ben Kingsley to the world as one of the finest actors of his generation.

RIP
I loved Richard Attenborough. And his "Seance on a Wet Afternoon" back in 1964 is highly recommended to mentalists and magicians. |

A wonderful actor. His brother is one of my heroes.

I was in a production of "Mousetrap" in college (I played Giles, the innkeeper), and it was that experience which, while in London made me want to go see "Mousetrap" there, and I learned in the program of that production that Richard Attenborough starred in the original London production. I read he almost didn't get the part due to his youthful appearance.
My favorite role of his was "Big X" in "The Great Escape".
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
