My good friend and Master Magician Paul Vigil is finally releasing some of his personal show material unto the magic community.

For those that follow Paul's work know that he rarely releases it to the public.

For those unfamiliar with his work; he was one of the students of Johnny "The Great Tomsoni", Thompson, he had a 3 year successful run as a house magician at the Mirage Casino, and performs regularly for the Magic Castle.

And he has never needed a job, other than performing his art.


In this book release, "Classic Fantastic", Paul teaches not only 4 of his favorite routines, but the psychology, timing, and speech patterns that make these effects destroy!

1. "The More the Merrier" - This is Paul's take on the multiple selection routine, with a TON (ok, it's eight, or less) of selections!

Paul's thinking is just amazing and brilliant. I highly recommend his work!

Fantastic!!!

I am rarely fooled by methods... But Paul still manages to get me with effects that I should be catching.
His pace and delivery take you so far out of methods and effects, you are left to focus on the moment.

There is something really great to learn from that.

What level are the technical slights that are required to pull off the card effects?

I would say Paul's card work is more about precision than difficulty.
If you want your magic to look like his, it will take a long time no matter the effect.

But with these effects I would dare say that you do not have to have his level of precision to kill with them.
And, he spends a great deal of time in this work teaching you his techniques.

As for the effects...
2 of them use cards.
Update and Our Kind of Gir(d)l(e) do not use cards.

Of the card effects, the High Five Redux will take the most practice, but it is not something outwardly difficult.
Most of Paul's work that destroys is based on his way of presenting them more than anything. (In my opinion).

I have personally seen Paul perform one of the pieces from this new book.

UPDATE.

It was the TAOM convention in Austin a few years ago.

Paul was on stage, ready to rock, and he allowed some people from the audience to call out random numbers, to create a 4 digit number totally at random. Lets say it was 2546.......Paul advised that fate works in mysterious ways, and as he did, he turned around, and pinned to his back was a piece of paper with the number 2546, clearly written. Literally no idea, and floored everyone.

I have known Paul for many years, and I personally use in my own style some of the effects he has developed, like Diplopia, and even the regular version of High 5, cant wait to learn the new version.

Def will be a good read.

Wow this is some powerful stuff! I've seen Paul perform several times in vegas, magic castle, and even at lectures and every time he gets a standing ovation! We know that this material has been worked out in every detail and tested on real audiences by a top professional performer. I distinctly remember Paul choosing me to detach the prediction that was pinned to his back for his effect "update" which he used to open his shows, and knowing the original method to the original routine, he still had me fooled. I'm not sure exactly what he did but whatever subtleties and additions he added to that routine is probably worth the price of this book. Not to mention High Five which I have performed for paid audiences myself, is freakin amazing! So I too am really curious as to what the additions to that routine are.

I'm quite confident that this will be one of the few highly coveted books that people will be talking about for years after it's all out of print. Ok so where do I sign up? Is there a link or website yet?

Is this an "updated" version of Backdate out of MMM?

Hence the name, "UPDATE" I would imagine so.. lol

What those updates are I couldn't tell ya.

Is there an approximate ETA for this book?

Paul has been working on this almost 6 months now.

I know he has several magicians like Jared Kopf editing it for him, and he was ready for me to announce it this week.

So I would think that it will be soon.
Exactly, I do not know yet.

But I will definitely update when I find out.

I do know he is selling it through his email on his website, that much I am certain.
