Would still like to know the main differences, pros and cons etc between these two. They are exactly the same in effect it is difficult to decide which to order

Here are the main differences with that are unique to Money:
- Different size bills can be used. - Different materials can be used. E.g. Plastic Canadian bills can be used (even with clear holes in them). - Endless different types of changes can be achieved due to the unique fast action gimmick. Also, Money is a streamlined gimmick that comes with a 2 hour DVD packed with routines, presentations, tips and ideas. Also, the main routine where you borrow a bill, change it and hand it back is taught in intricate detail. Q and A with some examples of different uses: Full trailer: Available at Ellusionist.com Feel free to ask any questions, Lloyd |

Could I take a suitably sized piece of paper, draw on it, then shake/change it into a real fiver?

I'm glad someone made this post! I have seen both videos for these effects (extortion and money) and they both look killer! I think my money is going to Money after seeing some of the 'other (change in specs hands etc)' effects money can do I think this has the leg up on extortion. don't get me wrong extortion looks awesome but that seems to be really the only thing you can really do is the change at the fingertips, where as money has multiple options for the change instead of just being done in the magis hands...correct me if I'm wrong?

With Money, you can do an unlimited amout of different types of changes, including having the visual moment happen in the spectators hands. Thank you very much for the support. If you need any help once you receive the DVD and gimmick, please feel free to drop me a message. |

Can either one be immediately examined? Before and or after?

It seems like immediately handing the bill out would be important for these sort of switches. (I wouldn't call having the spectator 'touch' the changed bill as actually handing it out, if that's all that can be immediately done.)

Can we change from a small sized note to a bigger size note. this is because the smaller note is the lower value one in my country compared to the bigger note which has about 2 cm difference in length.

I have purchased both MONEY and EXTORTION, and have come to some conclusions about them. Hopefully this won't be too long winded.......
*NOTE* These are just my opinions and are not written in stone. EXTORTION by Patrick Kun Pros: - Very visual - Thin gimmick - Gimmick is insanely clever (will make every magician go "Ooooooohh") - Borrowed bill can be used - Very convincing Cons: - More work needed to make the gimmick - Possibility of noise when gimmick is "in action" - Can only be used with paper money (best with US money, you'll need to purchase a little something extra if you are using other currencies; e.g. Canadian) - Can (really) only be used with bills of the same size MONEY by Lloyd Barnes Pros: - Very visual - The bill is less gimmicked - Can be done with different sized notes - Can be done with plastic notes - Change can happen in spectators hands - Many variations of changes Cons: - Gimmick can be quite thick - Gimmick has higher chance of flashing at the setup/after change moment - There is a discrepancy when using different sized bills (no cutting of bills required) - Gimmick might wear out over time (maybe Lloyd can correct me on this, but in my experience with this style of gimmick, whilst they won't totally wear out, they won't be as *ahem* "sprightly" as fresh out of the package after repeated use) - Fewer convincing displays possible Okay, so here is my verdict. Both of these effects are amazingly clever, have had tonnes of work and thought put into them, and will not disappoint you in the least. If you are living and working in the US (I'm currently in Singapore), I would go with EXTORTION hands down. The whole routine is direct and visual and the US bills conceal the gimmick very well (without revealing too much). There is quite a bit of an "Arts and Crafts project" that you need to undertake to construct the gimmick, but it is definitely worth it for what you get at the end. I'm not even in the US and I made one because it looks so *** awesome when it's in action. There might be a noise issue when performing EXTORTION, but honestly if you perform anywhere in the real world it should go unnoticed. Also, you can borrow one of the bills from the spectator which makes the routine a lot stronger. There is really only one change that you can really do with EXTORTION, but it is an insanely visual one and it works perfectly within the whole routine. If you live and work anywhere else, I would go with MONEY. The flexibility of the gimmick to be adapted to different sized bills as well as plastic currency makes is the obvious choice. I have made one set with Singapore dollars and it works very well (I did a $5 and a $10 - which are both plastic). I am waiting on some more gimmicks to come from Ellusionist so I can make some more as I will be travelling quite a lot in the coming year. There's also less gimmicking to be done with the bills (without revealing too much), and it can be done fairly quickly. When you use bills of two different sizes, there is a small discrepancy, but in the roughly 20 times I've performed it, I have never been caught on it. It is a minor one, but with a slight alteration to how you handle the bill (which is explained on the DVD) it will just fly by the spectators. There are so many changes you can do with MONEY, and the fact that the bills can change under a spectator's had is what sold it for me. This has immediately gone into my wallet and will become one of my go to tricks for sure! Both of these tricks require a switch at some point in order for both bills to be handed out, and both DVDs cover multiple ways of doing so. In short, if you're in the US, go with EXTORTION. If you're anywhere else, go with MONEY. Both of these effects are very very good and they do exactly what they say on the box. The main constraining factor is what type of currency is available where you live. Both are excellently produced and very well shot with both studio and live performances. If you like what you saw on the trailer for either trick, you will enjoy what you get inside the box. Hopefully that has helped in some capacity! |

If Money had been available at Penguin, I might have opted for it but it's Ellusionist so I bought Extortion instead and I'm so glad I did. The gimmick is so clever and the switch is crazy visual. The crafting isn't too bad. I'm sure Money is also very nice but you can't go wrong with Extortion.,
