Has anyone purchased or seen this effect performed? I think it looks great but I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on it. I really like how visual it is and am seriously considering buying it if it gets good reviews. |

It's a linking polo's effect, so you need to make sure that Polo's are available in tubes in any country you plan to perform this within. Troy performed Linko on his last TV series.
Here's two performance videos: https://vimeo.com/125148858 Much more in-depth here: https://vimeo.com/107683746 Merchant of Magic currently have it on the site and are running a promo on it (Buy one get one free + free worldwide delivery) Details here: http://www.magicshop.co.uk/product_info.......d=145366 It's contemporary close up street magic with an everyday item, a pack of Polo mints. Take a pack of Polos and remove two Polos from the pack, you squeeze the Polos in your hand. Draw attention to the pack of Polos, you show the pack all round and then slowly drag one of the O’s from the Polo logo down to link onto the other O! Permanently altering the label and leaving it in an impossible state. You open your hand they can see the Polos in your hand have now also miraculously linked. Everything is examinable. There's also an additional video teaching Ben’s personal handling of Linko where the Polo mints link in the spectators own hands. Hope this helps Dominic

Without giving away the method I assume that it would be a very bad idea for someone to eat the linked Polos?

There's nothing in the 'prep' that is harmful etc. However, it may not be hygenic because the performer has been handling the mints unwrapped during the performance. I doubt many people will bother to wear food hygene gloves Whether of not your spectators want to eat the mints is really down to their discretion. You are also fine to just give them the pack of Polo's to keep after the performance. Make sure you write your contact details on the pack before you give it out, it's going to be shown around a LOT!

I Love this trick; I just wish labels were more akin to steve rowe's love hearts in terms of price (about 30p a go). For me its a must give away trick but despite it being brilliant; the cost of labels makes give aways a tad cost probibitive.
However; the method is great and it gets great reactions |

Hi Paul,
I can completely understand the situation. Linko is printed on the same super thin paper grade as actual Polos so when they are given away they are the same feel etc as Polos so my unit cost price is already high. I will look to sell some refills in the near future and try to get the price down as much as possible. In all honesty I do this walkaround and don't hand out the packet everytime I perform. Sure for top tables, and performances I deem worth it I will leave the whole packet, however, when I peform in corporate situations and cocktail receptions where they don't really care about keeping a pack of Polos I won't leave it with them, I always leave the linked Polos though! I hope this helps, Ben |

Love the look of this as I do the linking polo's all ready, but can not give them out,so to beable to give them out or atleast they can handle them, well it is worth the price for that alone.I will certainly get this release.

Get them to take a photo of it to show their friends etc. so, are there gimmick polo mints supplied for the linking part or do you use normal ones?

Thanks for all of the positive comments.
Pegasus, the gimmikcing is really very simple, I can make a batch (12 or so) of linked Polos for a gig in about 30 mins max. Each one takes a couple of minutes to make, of course how inspectatble they are to the spectators depends on how well you make them! I honestly think though anyone can get the grips of this, it really is simple! Thanks again everyone. Ben |

1KJ Inner circle Warning: We will run out of new tricks in 4385 Posts |
It appears you don't get a PDF with the label, if I'm reading this correctly. I think this effect would be much better as a download with a video and PDF of the label so you could print as many labels as you desire. The demo says it is printed on the same paper as the regular polo labels. However, office supply stores sell a variety of paper and I'm sure one of those would be close enough. The problem here is I think it would make most sense to "use" the Polo during a performance and then make a new one for the next performance.
I'm not going to purchase something that I have to re-buy over and over. There are so many really good effects that don't require the purchase of refills of any sort. Maybe the creator would consider selling this as a download. KJ |

All been sorted ,i have just watched the download link and my wrappers will come to mo, hopefully.Well I never of thought it was that easy to join mints,so made 5 up all ready so the download is worth the price and good handling tip's from Ben,i will not be giving the wrappers out if they look so authentic, too exspensive.
1KJ may be an idea to get the correct paper and photo copy one from the batch,if it comes out well, then we will have plenty to give out. |

Anyone who does get this be aware, I just found a multi pack of Polo's which I have used for linking them and the package is different, won't effect the trick in anway but will have to buy seperate which is a little more exspensive ,well will be for me as I have an idea which will make sense for me to keep the pack I use.
