Coming out in the next few days String Theory by Vince Mendoza.
This is a great take on a classic plot that takes place in the spectators hands. I predict this is going to be very popular. Here is the add copy String Theory by Vince Mendoza is a refreshingly new take on the Gypsy Thread concept that now allows that best moments to happen right in the spectator's hands. When you take out a piece of string, your spectator cuts it into multiple pieces. They are in control. Pick up the pieces and place them in their hand. As you simply grab two of the ends and pull, the string visible heals itself in their hand. The pieces instantly mend IN THIER PALM. This is what intimate magic is all about. Over the course of 1.5 hour packed DVD, Vince Mendoza and Eric Jones will guide you through detailed performance explanations, simple setup, ins and outs, audience management, tips, tricks, troubleshooting & more. Magic happens in your spectator's hands. Great for strolling, close up or parlor. Spectator keeps amazing souvenir. Simple setup & pre-loading makes strolling & performing easy. Special string included to last many performances. Added bonus material, handlings and ideas from Eric Jones The healing of an object in a spectator's hands is one of the most powerful magic moments that you can share. String Theory adds a new dimension to this striking moment that they will remember forever. You can check it out in full here http://www.saturnmagic.co.uk/new-magic/s......oza.html

It's really beautiful. I can imagine this working beautifully with a kid on stage with your arms around her and pull the thread then. This could close a show if performed well.
Performance and presentation is beautiful (by no means 100 % original, but that is besides the point), I think the end needs to be reworked slightly. DEFINITELY buying this. |

This looks similar to an old version of a cut and restored string. If so, the "prep" time is going to be substantial.
Still, I'd buy it for the string if it works well. I suppose we'll have to wait and see how much is provided and whether refills will be offered. |

How long will the "special" string last? Do you need to order refills or the entire package again?
The first demo makes me a bit suspicious about practicality of the sw..th and the potential angle problems when doing this. This is just speculation. It does look good.

Nice expansion of an old method. I like how the ad says that it's perfect for strolling. Maybe so...if you go through the pain of prepping a bunch beforehand. Hopefully they've come up with a way to streamline the prep. I've always liked the method but as seen in the demo, using it to this degree will require you to pay attention after the restore to make sure you don't leave any clues that give away the method.

Changing from the traditional method really does make this amazing. Very creative thinking putting it together this way.
However, in the outdoor sequence, I would have liked to see what went on just before the pieces were placed in the spectator's hand. I would think "it" has to happen when there is a lot of heat on the pieces. Eric Jones' choreography was great, but outside of a parlor presentation, you might not have as much control for setting everything up. Jim |

This will be with us in the UK tomorrow.
I am very interested in this for myself as well as for stock for the shop. It's a great routine and a brilliant in the hands visual moment. I'm not really worried if I have to make a few up before I go out the effect is fantastic. I'll report back tomorrow on the details you all would like to know when it arrives.

I think the original still looks better (aesthetically) as well as more deceptive. You can do the original in a spectator's hands as well. And they can keep it too. I commend the creativity of coming up with a new method, but I disagree that it's an improvement. Seems more like a step back in my opinion.

For me, its a bit of a 'yank' to show the restored length of cord...makes it feel like the cord is longer than his boxer's reach...

Which version of the gypsy thread are you all referring to that is the "original" that was doable in spectators hands or are you saying that in general because any "ball" of pieces can be placed in their hands and stretched out?
