Do I have a choice on that car, Niva? I'll warn you ahead of time, I have expensive tastes!

Yes. As long as it's a model one.

Holy moly! They're letting anyone onto this board now. Welcome, Mr. Harlan!
I really like Peter's handling of the effect, not being quite up to full-scale finger flicking, I could certainly use that handling in character. Of course, now that Dan's posted the New & Improved handling... I have to learn that too. Yeesh. Good stuff all around, gang, and Niva - I have a box of old Hot Wheels. Let me know what you need.

Welcome from me, as well Dan!
Geez, I get to share this board with another of the greats! Wow. I'm humbled and feel very small. I've had Hover Card for years, and it is in my "prized trick" case. I've gotten pretty good at it, but it is fragile, so I've been careful. This is too good to just pull out and show...this comes into play when I'm rigged for I.T. work. Want to kill the "thread" theory? This'll do it. That said, I have had NO problem with the handling, or instructions, but now Dan has "kicked it up a notch" for me! Wow. Got to copy and paste that, for sure! Thank You, Mr. Harlan! (Got all your rubber band videos!) |

There is only one trick I've been constantly asked to do again.
It's Hover Card! I've done it once (2 years ago), they're still talking about it.

I've had people run away screaming after this one (In a good way). I even had the chance to see how it worked before I bought it, which is WHY I bought it. I have searched for so long for a good levitation effect w/out IT and this is it.

I just wanted to point out that Jordini makes a good point about the marketing of magic. While I don't think that all magic ads should explain the secret (though Fabrice Delaure seems to think it works) I have bought very few items without clearly understanding their method beforehand. |

I guess that I'm in the minority with the Hover Card...I feel that it looks too 'rigged'...does that make sense? Believe it or not, I actually purchased two of them thinking that it would go over better than I thought (keeping the second as a spare), but both ended up in the trash. Maybe it was just poor mechanics on my end but it never got the reaction from spectators that I was hoping for so I abandoned it.

Hi, just wanna know if you can make hover cards at home by yourself.
Ellusionist is selling an instructional video on how to use the card..so can I make it myself? |

I really like my hover card. The fact that it's a lateral levitation instead of a vertical one is original. When people see things "rise" they immediately think it's on a string. But a card dangling from a string on it's edge would wobble and "dance" all over the place. You can freely show there are no threads/string (since there ARE none), which also helps to rule out that possibility in the spectator's mind if you DO utilize thread in other effects.

I'm sure you could construct a replacement gimmick after viewing the video.
