Hi, I'm looking for resources to learn the multiple billiard ball routines. I just saw a small clip of cardini performing and was immediately hooked. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Lesson #29 in Tarbell #2 is on billiard ball manipulation. It gives a few routines, one with billiard balls of different colors. Sleights and moves needed are taught within the actual routines.
Also, on TLC's "Mysteries of Magic" (#1) there is a short clip of Cardini performing card and billiard ball manipulation.

If you want a good resource, check out Bill Tarr's "Now you see it, Now you don't. Lessons in sleight of hand." It can be found at Barnes and Nobel, amazon.com, and many other great places. Its worth the money.

You'd probably enjoy Tim Wright's Video called "Multiplying Balls." It's very good and covers things not covered by McBride. It also has footage of Cardini AND Neil Foster performing. I highly recommend it.

Tim Wright's routine is excellent! The one in the Mark Wilson course is good, especially for a starter routine. If you can find a copy, "Classic Secret's of Magic" by Bruce Elliot has a great chapter on it.

This cardini clip is a portion of a segment shown on the Tim Wright video (Very Good Video). Also, look into Now You See It..., Jeff McBride videos, and The Greater Magic Video Library: Shimada. All great resources.

Billiard ball recources:
Let me add two books that come up on Ebay every once in a while and because of the title ,manipulators do not know that it includes dozens of routines ( also very avangarde and advanced) for the manipulator: The complete illustrated book of close up magic by Walter Gibson. Yes, some chapters on close up and mentalism but most of it is hardcore stand up/ stage manipulation with coins, balls, thimbles etc. Also let me add the name Ron Mc Millan here.He published a great routine in a small booklet.I do not exactely remember the title but the word spheres is in it. Another source for VERY unusual ( but practical billiard ball manipulation is the book by Richard Kaufman on the interlocked production of balls. It is very hard to do but I performed one routine out of this book for a long time. Great book. Ravi

PS.
Concerning Ron McMillans booklet: It is called Symphony of the spheres There is one auction currently on Ebay in which the seller calls the book " Symphony of the Rings! Billiard Balls" by mistake. Have a look. No, I am not the seller, nor do I know him.Just wanted to help out one ofyou to get this extremelyrare booklet. Ravi

You might also want to check out Gregg Webb's CD-ROM/e-book "The Book That Doesn't Exist...And More!"
Among other things, he covers new dodges & color changes, and resurrects Ade Duval's eight ball routine. He also explores new sleights sans shells. The CD-ROM is available to dealers world-wide through Murphy's Magic Supplies. |

How about the Romaine DVD "monarch of manipulators" it has one dvd on billiard ball manipulation and one on card manipulation and from what I've heard they are excellent.
