I've posted this idea in Mentally Speaking, but thought I'd share it here too. If you're familiar with Aronson's Shuffle Board and Cassidy's Master Card Memory routine, you've got a helluva "photographic memory" type routine. For Shuffle Bored, you use a full stacked deck. At the end of the routine, you end up with a deck mixed with face up and face down cards. My presentation angle for this effect is to quickly riffle through the cards, supposedly making a photographic image of all of the face up cards I see. I then announce the exact number of cards I believe to be face up in the deck. The spectator deals the cards into two piles, one face up, the other face down, and in the process, count out loud the number of face up cards. The actual number matches the number I announced. Now, with Shuffle Bored complete, you transition into Cassidy's Master Card Memory routine. What you have is two piles of cards, one face down, the other face up. I announce that while the spectator counted through the pack, I quickly tried to memorize every face up card I saw. I have one spectator pick up the face up pack and spread it in front of them, and have the other spectator take the face down pack and do the same. I then proceed to go through every card in the deck, calling out which packet it's in.
If you're not familiar with both of these routines, then I'm guessing you've stopped reading by now. But if you like both routines, you,lol love them together! |

I like it!! I've been trying to think of a way to add Shufflebored to my show and this is a terrific idea. Thanks so much for sharing this

They'd s thread in Mentally Speaking called Cassidy's Master Card Memory. In the thread, there is actually a YouTube clip of Bob performing his routine.

Adrian Guerra Performs a similar routine on his Euphoria DVD. Cool idea.
