Just so you know, it requires an $800 deposit to start. It seems like it could be a very good program, though.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

I bought it and then it had to be cancelled due an oversight of another Magician in my area buying it first, to say I'm disappointed is a understatement. The good news is he is a good guy and a very good magician so at least I know it will be performed well. The biggest selling point to me is that its promoting life skills using magic and not just some silly messages put in to fit with the magic tricks.
I have several educational shows already and a magiccourse website I have been slowly working on for last year or so I will concentrate more of my efforts on that. I wish everyone the best of luck with the new course as it really hits some major points and it looks as if it will be done to a very high standard. |

It looks top notch.
If I were performing magic for a living, I would defintely jump right on this. Gerry |

Actually, this sounds like more of giving magic workshops to kids, wrapped in a package that will help them develop into all the things missing in todays children. Good morals, respectfulness, and communication with others.
Don't know where this would be easy to sell, as a lot of magic classes are after school and at colleges adult learning schools buildings. Being this a set program by a Michael Ammar company, this may not be permitted in such schools. Meaning, then one may have to rent space to give the classes, which means more investment and cut into profits. It sounds like a fine project, and different way to sell a concept. It may be very hard to sell, and the investment is huge. Down payment as mentioned is $800, then one most likely has to purchase all the materials from the Discover Magic company. One should be able to love working with small children in order to even think about doing this project. I can see where help may be needed to manage the children as well. A big challenge for someone. |

From the FAQs:
"What's the cost? A Discover Magic License is $4,800. In addition to your License/training, you will also receive promotional materials, access to the online content and all the materials you need for a class of 20 Students. The License fee for the First 52 Presenters, however, will only be $2,600. Which means your first class of 20 students might generate twice your total investment. Plus you can secure your spot as a First 52 presenter with an $800 deposit (the other $1800 payable when you teach your first class) Are there other costs? As you teach more classes you will buy materials at $38 per student (in 10 packs) There is also an annual renewal fee of $200; but this fee will be waived the first year for the First 52. Otherwise, a minimum order of four 10 packs of materials per year will waive the annual License fee, as well. The annual fee keeps you listed on the Discover Magic site, in touch with all the continued training, and able to buy materials - but that is waived if you purchase materials for 40 or more students a year (basically 2 classes - If you take this seriously you could do ten times that a year.)" Hey guys - thanks for the kind words - this is Brian (one of the creators of Discover Magic)
The first 52 presenter spots are all filled. Butt we are keeping a standby list for when we open another 52 spots this fall. SO if you are interested drop me an email. the next 52 will have a $3,500 license fee which will still save you some money from the normal $4,800 fee and you can secure your location before someone else does. We will be updating the site in the coming months and once you see the whole program I think you will agree this is a game changer for the world of magic.

Putting it simply. ----------------------------------------------------- Maybe their is confidentially agreement, as I have read nothing about the 52 already sold. Anyone seen any websites or Facebook pages on any of these 52 people that purchased the program already. I would think they would advertise to the program to sale parents. I thought it was exclusive, only one person per state, but now they will have competition. |

Scott Wells' podcast "The Magic Word" did a detailed interview with Michael Ammar discussing "Discover Magic".
They talk about what's included in the package for the "Presenter". It sounds like it could be quite profitable. He also mentions that the package includes information on how to get venues for your classes.

I can see this being very expensive as with any start up business. You will need a place to hold the classes, being only once or two teachers per state (currently) travel as well.
So the most likely and easiest place would be a motel conference room. That adds considerably to cost. Much has to do with city and location. If it is in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, etc. then of course it would be easier. If in rural America, then not so much. Then there is selling the classes. Selling is not easy, and a lot of work that could take up an 8 hour day, 5 days a week. Being you are selling a course, I don't see how you could connect through schools, churches, libraries, etc., so prospecting could be a nightmare for most none professional sales people. From the above posts, it looks like they expect results or will pull you off the project, and sell it to another person. So no sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring. |

Hey - thought I should chime in and answer some questions.
First if you want to find presenters you can visit our site and see where they are all located. http://www.discovermagic.com/find-a-class Presenters are teaching classes (about half of the first 52 and already some of the Charter presenters that signed up on day one are teaching. But like any buisness we can;t garuntee sucsess - One presenter signed up over 30 students with one pitch after a big show. others are strugling to get students. We provide a manual filled with ideas - and locations (hotel rooms being way low on that list) Assisted living centers on the other hand are awesome - they will let you use a meeting room free often in exchange for doing a show for the residents - so now you have a big show at the end of the class and already presenters are saying that places like this will even help put the word out and fill your class for you. I don't understand why this would be compared to an MLM - there are not multilevels - we created a curiculum and we liscense presenters to present it. That is all. But we do want to do everything we can to help our presenters have sucsess. And I think you will hear a lot more about this is 2016. For now presenter spots are closed (we will open more spots in 2016!)

I can't wait to hear more. I hope it is positive . But it sounds like a ridiculous amount of money that nobody can afford unless you are already successful in wich case you wouldn't need this most likely. I almost fell over when I saw the cost. . I do honestly hope this works out positive but I really have doubts. One more problem I can see is people signing up for this and them finding out they don't have the sales skills to achieve the requirements and then are in debt and bill collectors set in. Maybe I'm dead wrong but an observation. Best of luck to this project. I know it is intended to be a positive for communities. I have loved everything Michael Ammar has done. .
