Hi All,

I just performed Tony Clark's, Gypsy Balloon this weekend at my church and I felt like it went well.

If you want to hear the entire message, so you have some context for the effect...it will be posted on our website tomorrow at the following URL...

Thanks Andrew! It took much trial and error to get it to work, but well worth the time and effort.
Tony Clark provided me with some further instructions that helped me with a particularly challenging part of setting up the balloon.

Great customer service!!

Well done. Super example of the magic "supporting" the message, while not being a silly gimmick.

Love the Gypsy balloon. Here is my Gospel routine with it, I think it was filmed at the International FCM a couple years ago. It's still one of my favorite routines and I actually had it in my lecture notes last year.

Joey says its a private video and no one can watch it

i am not a huge fan of gypsy balloon but I can see it working well.
i have performed my version of gypsy thread (thread of Life for many many years)

indeed any piece of magic can be transformed into a work of art and a gospel or christian message when we take the time to invest in the routine.

good job to all those that use this and other tricks to unleash gods love with others.

i am deaf so I have no idea what you say but thought you did a nice handling of the trick and nice clean ditch using what you had. nice job

Beautifully done ambassador. As mentioned above you've done a commendable job of using the magic to support the message and really keeping the focus on what's important. I loved you're stage presence, calm yet confident throughout the duration with no real change even as you slipped into the routine and back out. Your church is lucky to have you.

Years ago, I owned and operated "The Magic Bus Yo-Yo Shoppe" in a small room of my upstairs office building. I also sold a variety of yo-yos at the Kalamazoo County Fair, including many of the new Yomega "clutch" yo-yo's when they first came out. I still have my own small collection of yo-yos, some dating back 50 years.

I was delighted to see the "Gypsy Yo-Yo" trick come out, and have used it as an excuse to show the Sunday School kids some of my early yo-yos (wood, metal, plastic) including my original red Duncan Imperial. Then I do/did a few simple yo-yo stunts with that yo-yo that I can still pull off- "Walk the Dog", "Baby in the Cradle", "Round the World", etc..

I later switch(ed) that yo-yo out for an identical red Duncan Gypsy Yo-Yo, and used it as a part of a standard "God restores the broken pieces of our life" of routine based on the famous Romans 8:28 verse.

By the way, when you order the Gypsy Yo-Yo, you do not know what color you will get. However, it is easy online off Amazon.com to order an identical color regular matching Duncan Imperial delivered for less than $10.00.

Be sure to practice the trick well before performing including carefully doing the "prep." The DVD directions are very complete and leave nothing unsaid. The Gypsy Yo-Yo effect is fantastic- it would be almost impossible to duplicate at home as the machining for it is quite remarkable. Packs small, plays big, and is worth combining with a few other yo-yo tricks. Many kids asked me if they could try my yo-yo.

The "Dollar Tree" stores in the U.S. currently have available a fairly heavy METAL yo-yo for only $1 that actually works pretty good (most really cheap plastic yo-yos are too light to work well)- one could hand those inexpensive yo-yo's out if one wanted to.

Anyway, probably most of you are already familiar with the Eugene Burger or floating balloon or several other versions of the "gypsy thread" which was beautifully done on the FCM main stage with a floating balloon. Now the yo-yo version is out there too which I currently have placed in my own children's Gospel magic program which fits in truthfully with my earlier obsession in buying and later selling many dozens of fancy performance type yo-yos. I even got to sell a few of the beautiful Tom Kuhn custom wood yo-yos.

Brad Brown does before a live audience a meaningful Gospel Magic version of "the gypsy thread" at the end of Now That's Magic! #2 at the 27:41 mark in the video: found at www.ChristianMagician.org

It was just a few years ago that I performed and lectured on gypsy thread a the FCM national convention.

shameless plug here but I am about to release my glow thread to the magic community as well as my handling.

gypsy thread is one of those underused super duper awesome effects that when presented correctly can really make a huge impact. I close my shows with it all the time.

I was there and Sam's handling/teaching was superb.

This year Steve Price did GYPSY THREAD at the FCMUK Close-up competition and won. The patter linked perfectly with the moves.
