This is often the challenge with small volume magic creators vs. big commercial manufacturing for mass retail. We are such a niche low volume custom market by necessity. I swear I have already talked to them and they are not willing to change their packaging for my small volume orders. I gave to buy a second lock set which would drive up the price too much for just a second key....

Would it be possible and cost effective to install a magnet onside the bottom of the chest so that the key would stick to the chest when not in use? Another simpler and cost effective alternative would to purchase and use a small pouch to keep the chest and key inside so that when not in use, the key and chest would always be kept together in a secured place. I am sure people could find many nice velvet draw string bags that would fit both the chest and key. Michael

Both great ideas Michael, the magnet idea wont work cause the key won't stick but like David I lose stuff all the time. that's why I either put it on the keyring with my car key or wear it in a chain around my neck.

First and foremost, place the key in a nice suitable key-ring with a decent fob so as to secure the tiny key in case it is inadvertently dropped during performance.

There has got to be a comedy routine in there somewhere... unlocking a tiny wooden box with a key secured to a ship's anchor or something equally absurd...

You could have a spectator onstage and have given another spectator in the audience the chest to hold before the show...
After gathering some information from spectator1 onstage you tell her that before the show you gave a locked solid oak chest to an audience member to lug around and keep a watchful eye on.. ask that audience member to raise their hand. Then you hand a little skeleton key to spectator1 and tell her to go unlock the chest, but when she tries it becomes apparent the key is chained to a wrecking ball that was on the floor behind your table. "You look like your having trouble, I'll have him haul the chest all the way up here for you" Call spectator #2 to the stage carrying a tiny locked box above his head and proceed with the the reveal Sequence... Should be good for a few laughs!

Hi everyone,
I've received some really positive messages from everyone so thank you. One persoon had a question about adhesive not appearing to be fully set in place I suspect changing temperatures during shipping may have played a factor, I would like to hear if anyone else has experienced any issues or if this is a true anomoly. The fix is literally a 10 second solution it uses something covered in the instructional video under the care and maintenence section. if you have this or any other issues or questions please don't hesitate to PM me I am more than happy to help. Hi all I have received a couple of questions via IM and will be recording a short supemental video to address a couple of questions up front. As my first commercial release I tried to be thorough in the video but there are a couple of small tips that I should have included. They are things I do that have become so second nature to me that I didn't think of them until some kind folks brought them to my attention. I don't want to go into them here but please IM me if you have purchased the Miracle Prediction Chest and I can give you some information. Nothing major, just tips about how to make it work as smoothly as possible.
Thanks, Dan

I have decided to post a video from my first day of practice with the Miracle Prediction Chest and I can tell you honestly that I do no sleight of hand or card manipulations (because my hands just won't cooperate). But when I showed this video to my harshest critic (my wife) said to me "What's the big deal? A piece of paper falls out of a box. Am I missing something?" No, honey, no big deal. And yes, honey, you are but it's okay." No, I didn't say those things out loud, only to myself.
https://youtu.be/YRF4IAxkmsA Only ten seconds long. Enjoy. More work to be done. |

Looks like you're using the same handling Rick Lax used for turning a bill into another one with The Box by Mark Southworth.
I don't think you can use this handling with a prediction or a signed card.
