MagiDate is now available to download from iTunes!
It's the classic card at any birthday plot but using the iPhone calendar rather than a conventional diary. It can be performed with or without cards. It can be repeated too. The best thing I think however is that as it uses the iPhone calendar, there is no suspicion of an app being in play at all. Just hand over the phone, they look for their birthday and see the predicted card on their date. Simple. What's more, the card sequence used in the calendar matches the Bart Harding stack which is used in the wonderful Paul Gordon diary trick so magicians who currently perform Paul's effect can use MagiDate too. Thank you Paul for your permission to mention your effect. Here's the link; https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/id996208135 Cheers

Very clever! Already enjoying this and can see a few ways to layer it with other card and birthday reveals.

I have been doing something similar (and free(er)) for years. Watched Aldo Colombini's dvd which deals with calendars/datebooks, then created a google calendar with a card as an appointment on each date. Then shared that calendar with my iphone. Works great and can be turned on and off. Not to discourage purchase, but rather to open up a dialog as to how this works better than what I just said.
Oh...and I have a 5s and it works, unlike the itunes statement "please don't download if you have a 5s." |

Hi Robvs. Yes you can certainly do your own calendar which will work fine. I'm guessing you will then need to calculate which card appears at the date, and then force that card? My app actually pushes one of four force cards to the selected date, so requires no calculations. If yours can do this then no problem, don't buy the app!
I will pop a video soon. 😄

I suggest you can change the force card's suit to ♠️♥️♣️♦️ ,for example: Q of Hearts ➡️ ♥️Q

I cannot perform the trick to spectators in China, if they can speak English, I can perform.

Hi guys. Thought I'd share my fav handling of this. This really hits hard and is a great closer. To set up, you need to prepare the four force cards with breather crimps, and mark them so you can read easily. Now let's go.....
Explain about everyone having a birthday card, and that you are going to share the spectators birthday card in a magical way. Hand out cards to be shuffled. Get them the cut etc until you see a force card on top. Get them now to re box the deck. This isn't necessary, but just adds to the impossibility! Write a prediction (force card). Explain you are doing this BEFORE they disclose their birthday. Ask them to remove deck and start dealing cards face down into a pile and stop whenever they want, and then pop the remaining cards in the box. You are totally hands off! The force card is now at the bottom of the pile. Ask them to now deal the cards into three piles, and as they do so, casually ask their birthday. Set MagiDate. Plenty of time as they are dealing the cards into the three piles. The force card will now be on top of one of the piles. Ask them to choose a pile. If it's the force card pile, keep it and discard the rest. If it's not, then dump the selected pile into the box. Keep repeating this sequence until one card remains - the force card. This is simply magicians choice but cleverly disguised! You now have a double whammy. Get them to look up their birthday and check the card. Turn over the card. A match. Turn over the prediction. Boom. This multilayered routine cleverly disguises the method and gets massive reactions. The fact that you don't handle the cards is also a real killer. Have fun!

Regarding the 5 S, we had a few issues purely with the 5S but couldn't duplicate the situation to diagnose the problem. Most 5S users were fine, but some had issues. Hence why I put the message regarding the 5S. Obviously many 5S users have downloaded it with no problems however.
