I feel sad for those who prefer an anarchist hellhole to a liberal utopia, but to each their own. If it happened and you really wanted to leave, "people like me" would pay for your ticket.

Chances are you will renege on your offer, you know the tin can deal. Mostly just noise.

Why do you think the government, or in this case YOU have the right to tell anyone how much they can make? As long as it's not specifically unconstitutional, the government as expressed through its three branches has the right to enact the will of the people, if they so choose. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work in this country? I think you have a decent case arguing against gun restrictions as unconstitutional; I don't think, however, you could prevent legislation that affected either the minimum or maximum wage on constitutional grounds. And Danny, since you often--and I think sometimes correctly--argue against "the sky is falling" kind of rhetoric, I feel much of the anti-minimum wage sentiment is of the same character. Every time this issue comes up, we hear that businesses are going to close en masse, and the sky will fall. Well, minimum wage hikes have come and gone, and it's really not clear that the sky has fallen because of it. Business as a whole will survive it, and it will end up being good for the economy, as it provides more dollars circulating into the system.

And, let's not forget The Warrior 100K (Bush's annual mountain biking event) - and the Warrior Open Golf Tounament, where millions are raised for veteran's charities.

And there wouldn't even have been a need for such a charity if the idiot politicians hadn't lied about the war. And neglected to give them body armor in a timely manner. Again, I don't know anybody (except maybe you, now) who defends the making of money by politicians who exploit their position, no matter what the party. It's totally irrelevant to this discussion. But, again, good job in avoiding the discussion about the minimum wage.

Interesting article for all those who said raising minimum wage would not end with there being less jobs or people losing their jobs:
https://pjmedia.com/trending/2016/08/28/......increase "lost 1,400 restaurant jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is a full 2.7 percent decline in food service jobs in two quarters, the largest such drop since the 2001 recession 15 years ago." Economics 101
