I really wanted to get this and Peters products are always top notch. However, unfortunately I do not think that "Dam Busters" will go down too well here in Germany

This effect looks fabulous. I am a big Peter Nardi / Alakazam fan too. However, I am struggling with this potential purchase. I am not aware of the two other effects that most have mentioned and compared this too but I do own "Director's Cut". I am well aware that the methods are different. I mean, in the performance, Peter does not even look at the movie cards. But methods are secondary to the effect as viewed by the spectator. Having said that, it seems to me like providing several movie card choices, having someone pick one and you divine it, may not be enough. Can someone more knowledgeable than myself point out enough of a difference between the two to make it a worthwhile endeavor to purchase this? I want it. I love it. The new kid who wants everything new is excited to say the least. But the adult says, I don't need two effects that are the same in nature and spectator appeal regardless of the methodology!

Even though I am creator of one of the 'competitors' to this effect, namely The Visionary, I can say that Screentest is worth getting even though you have DC. And the principle behind it can be transferred to other subjects rather than movies should you wish, and should you be capable of making your own props. Plus, having similar effects using differing methods can be quite useful at times. steve |

It's somewhat interesting that the spectator doesn't read the names correctly - they leave some movies out. I would expect this to happen a lot with a list this long when you're asking them to mentally keep track of the entire list and know which ones they have read and which ones they haven't.
Is there a limit to how short the list can be (or how long it must be if that's an easier way of thinking about it) ? Will this work if they forget and leave out the name of the selected movie? I agree this would be rarer since it's probably on their mind, but could see it happening. |

Reading them out of order without omitting or duplicating any titles seems like something that could be difficult for some (like me for instance), and if the spec absolutely has to do that correctly then that would be a deal breaker for me. |

The reading portion has never an issue. I have performed this many times and have never had a problem. It usually doesn't matter if they forget a couple. It doesn't matter if the forget to mention theirs, it doesn't matter if the read the same one once. If fact when I perform it I honestly have no idea if they have read them all
I hope this helps. Peter |

Ok Guys, I'm from Belgium and was a little afraid that maybe, the dutch language was going to be a funbreaker again... But noooo... The minute I saw the instructions, I must say that I didn't even wait for the physical trick to get to me by mail. I produced my own movieposters (other movies, some dutch) and adapted it all to my language. Already have a version for close-up, salon and big podium
This is a great effect that does everything they promise. And more, because indeed, the bonus routines are also very good! Thx Guys, one happy belgium customer here! Performed it a couple of times now for my friends, they don't have a clue! even a few magician friends... |

Got it today. It goes into my act tonight. Simple, clean, should work fine.so work on presentation, presentation, presentation
Reading them out of order is fine, reading them in order is fine, skipping some titles is fine but... I have a great line that takes care of the problem and gives the spec almost all the latitude they could want PM me if you are interested since this has not gone downstairs yet. Preston |
