Hello everyone

I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for books on packet tricks, effects, history, performance etc.

Thank you

Not specifically on packet tricks, but you can find lots of them in The collected works of Alex Elmsley.

Small But Deadly by Paul Hallas fits your request the best http://www.magicbookshop.com/product_inf......_id=9618

And it's sequel which is now only available in e-book form, "Still Small, Still Deadly" http://www.lybrary.com/still-small-still......770.html

You should be able to find good reviews for both elsewhere on this forum. I've been using effects from these books for years, and the answers to a lot of questions asked about packet tricks on this forum can be found in these books. Great reference books for your magical library.

Also look for a Tannen's manuscript by J.K. Hartman called Packet Magic. Many of these were reprinted in CardCraft but that book is VERY hard to find.

I recently found a copy of Focus by Phil Goldstein. From the introduction: "Most of the routines are packet tricks".

I have just started studying it and I found a number of interesting effects.

The Paul Hallas books are great. Tons of info.

Counts, Cuts and Subtlety will have you creating your own effects with all the sleights you learn that seem to be geared towards packet tricks.

Focus - Phil Goldstein - what more needs to be said.

I also hear good things about Countesaurus by Jon Racherbaumer although I don't own it as of yet.
by EVILDAN....
"The Coin Board Book" - moves and routines with the coin panel board. - http://www.lybrary.com/the-coin-board-book-p-827955.html
"SLASHER - A Horror Whodunnit" - a bizarre close-up routine based on Bob Neale's "Sole Survivor."
PM me for more info.
"Zombie Town" - a packet effect about how a small town turned into zombies. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nzJhcoJtyOM

Yes, but it is not related to the question by the OP. That book is an encyclopedic collection of counts and displays

Although it is a DVD and not a book, Craig Petty put out Slim.

And then L&L World's Greatest Magic line had some packet trick DVDs produced recently as well.

Wild card kit by Racherbaumer published by L&L (now available as ebook). Just one subject but so many variations and techniques.

These are not packet trick books, which is the theme of the thread, but I believe most of his marketed packet effects were included. Maybe someone with the books could mention which one contains most of the packet effects.

Unless this is just a troll, you could easily find reviews on the web I would think.

Doesn't Cameron Francis have a series of publications with packet tricks?
I believed it's called Packet Mania, but I'm not sure if it's a DVD series or a publication.

Also, John Bannon's High Caliber contains lots & lots of packet tricks.
