Hello all,

I want to have some postcards made that has a simple trick kids can do printed on the back. Is there a public domain source, or even a paid source, out there where I could find tricks easy to print? I suppose I could make my own but I would prefer something wil illustrations.

Thanks.

Hi Mike -

For an instant author / licensed product, with magic trick artwork, you might look at these (some might need to be adapted to your needs):

http://www.abra-card-abra.com/products&prices.html

http://coolmagicproducts.com/ (Look for "DIY Print Tricks 4 Magic Giveaways")

http://www.barrymitchellproducts.com/pro......ng-cards

http://www.makemagicmoney.com/trick_book......_logo-2/

http://www.mistergreggy.com/shopping (I can't quite provide a direct link. Click on the "Books" tab on this page, by the red dot. Greg McMahon / Mr. Greggy's "Learn Magic" instant author book, reviewed here and also mentioned on other Café threads.)

- Donald

P.S. I have a series of postcards with tricks on the back created specifically for me, so I'm not using a licensed product. That's another direction, too.

I have some of the old Ed Harris flyers from WAAAAYYY back. I have used individual tricks from those, and printed them on postcards. As an aside, I am not convinced of their value (a little hard to track), but I continue to use them.

You're welcome.

One more item I forgot to mention was Dean Hankey's Abra-Kid-Abra Activity Book license. I've used some of the artwork from that on a different project at one time (a cross-fold flyer that I used as a giveaway... larger scale that the one Dean includes). So, I could see someone adapting tricks from that to use on postcards.

Thanks guys. Those links aren't quite what I was looking for. Ed Harris had a black and white brochure, with about 8-10 tricks in it. One is close, but full color. Still looking for other new ideas I guess...

Hi Markin -

This link was referenced on one of the threads I linked to, on your other thread.

http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......start=30 (starting on page 2 of this thread).

This website popped up in the last year or so, long after Eric Paul passed away. Note that their identity is totally hidden.

It is my opinion that this is a store that's selling a pirated product, and I'd bet good money that it's run by the same person who runs the eBay store someone mentioned on that other thread, which is known for selling pirated products.

Please don't buy from them.

- Donald

P.S. Several of Eric's friends asked Weebly to shut down that website, and we were told by Weebly that the only one who can request it be shut down is the actual owner of that product (assuming it is a pirated product). Because Eric Paul has passed away, he can't request that they stop selling pirated versions of something he owns the rights to (again, he owned the rights to the Ed Harris line). However, copyright exists for many, many years after an owner / author passes away.

BTW, the person who did the magic trick artwork that I use on my magic activity postcards (which I referenced above), intends to release that to the public as "magic activity sheets" at some point in the near future. This will be a product that you can customize yourself; he will not do it for you.

Above, I referred to a giveaway item that I made at one time, using the artwork in Dean Hankey's Abra-Kid-Abra Activity Book license. This is what the finished product (my activity booklet) looked like. Photos posted in my Facebook album, but I've made it so all can see them.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=......a42d94dd

This is different from the folded booklet shown on Dean's site, which is smaller. His bonus booklet is 8.5"x11" before folding, but mine is 11"x17" before folding. When you buy Dean's License, you get access to individual pages which you can make into a big book that's 8.5"x11", plus his bonus booklet.

I had my graphic designer use bits and pieces from the different pages to design a customized activity booklet for me.

As you can see, there are several tricks taught in black and white illustrations. The artwork in Dean's Activity Book is not by Ed Harris. It was designed by Ryan Pilling, specifically for Dean Hankey. You can have access to this artwork when you buy the license from Dean Hankey (link above). Ryan has done projects for me, too, including my series of giveaway activity postcards, brochures, business cards, etc.

This website says they own the rights to the Ed Harris promotional material, and have put the items on CD.

Sometime in the past 2-1/2 years, Ryan changed the name of his company from Showbiz Studio to Wow Factor Studio ( https://www.wowfactorstudio.com/ ). And then he changed the name again to Tips & Tricks for Magicians ( https://www.mymagictips.com/ ).

Here's a current link to his webage selling his promotional items:
