Can anyone recommend the best shiney silver metal appearing cane to buy? In a previous post Harakhan canes were mentioned, but I think they may be only black not silver. I have seen a few advertised relatively cheaply, (in the UK at the Paul Daniels Magic shop I think, and at Hank Lee's and Viking magic) are these any good? I want to buy the best and don't mind the cost. I'd prefer one that doesn't need oiling.
Thanks, Phil |

I live in Spain. The best are here in Madrid and are made of steel so you can use it as a rope in fire to silvercane. You can go to http://www.magiaestudio.com. Its in Spanish. The cane cost 55 Euros. (62 dollars). Adolfo.

Harakhan canes are bronze color.
All the silver canes are about the same. They are made in India. There is none currently making a quality appearing cane. Louis Tannen's did make a higher quality blue color cane but it looked identical to the German import models only they are black. The imports work fine. |

I think that Mak is right. You can get a very good silver cane from Spain. The coil can`t be seen from very close distance. Mayoral used to sell it in 90`s.

I use silver canes. and the India onse are fine. but the Japanese make the best appearing canes. you should contact UGM in asia. They never fail to have the coolest stuff in magic.

Speaking from experience, that offered by Paul daniels is an exellent product.
In purchasing a metal cane, the key determinent is its 'memory', metal thickness, speed of responsiveness, and friction. I had one once that never failed to cut my operative hand, owing to the poorly finished metal edges and the increased thickness of the metal. it also 'rubbed' a little during use creating scores and scrapes that were beyond repair and highly visible. The one listed on Paul Daniels has excellent speed and balance. I imagine you will be extremely happy with it. Hope this helps. |

Juan Mayoral does sell his canes.
For my money, Harakhan are still the best. UGM are a close second. Walsh was never available in anything but the blued steel. What makes the Japanese canes so superior to Walsh is they are rolled to width instead of the metal being sheared to width. This makes the metal a less likely to cut you.
