Well then don't buy the trick because that is part and parcel of how it works.

It's totally ridiculous to expect anyone to be happy with some stranger putting their hand into their pocket, be it jeans or, even worse, trouser pocket.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this effect. It's a demonstration of pickpocketing. Pickpockets put their hands in people's pockets, it kinda goes with the territory. This would be a great addition for anyone who already does pickpocketing magic and wants a false explanation, or for those who want to get into pickpocketing, and want a way to practice interacting with people in such a way. Just my two cents

Just bought it and this looks very good! I've purchased the £ version but contacted Cole to switch for the $ version, it looks smaller, and maybe better for me

Hi Re. Re not being comfortable reaching into someone's pocket. The easy solution for any effect where you need to get close to a spectator is simply to ask permission.
"Would you like to see a demonstration of my masterly pickpocket skills using your pocket" If they say yes (and they almost always say yes)..then all is well. Janet Harris ps: note that you are not reaching deep into her pocket and having a party..just a respectful thumb and forefinger into top of pocket. |

I've been doing this type of magic for many many years so for me it's a very natural thing to do. And as I mentioned, in this effect the performer is playing the part of a pickpocket, the spectator will be expecting the performer to go into their pocket. I do understand though that some magicians don't like this type of effect, or such effects like watch stealing, body loading, coin under watch, coin on shoulder etc etc. Best if you bypass this one Gary Jones.

No hostility, simple statement of fact. The routine is constructed so that the joke pickpocketing move is necessary for the trick to work. If you can't see yourself doing that, then you probably shouldn't buy it.
Personally I think the effect seems pretty cool, but I want to see some more reviews before I take the plunge. I'm thinking has a good chance of making my Christmas list. Quote: On Nov 17, 2015, bgm4gic wrote:

I'll definitely be buying this as soon as I've gotten over my phobia of entering other people's pockets.

Hi there. Kaliix simply means what he says. If you don't feel comfortable you shouldn't get this effect. No big deal. Likewise, if you don't like eggs in any way shape or form, you shouldn't buy an egg bag. Fortunately there are a million other great tricks out there!😎

Actually his meaning is pretty transparent. If you're not interested in going in someone's pocket then what on earth are you doing in a thread for a pickpocket trick? It's unnecessary to own the trick to understand the concept behind it. Sort of specified in the effect name, no? Nothing wrong with discussing pros and cons of a trick but it's rather odd for people to complain about a pick pocketing effect involving picking pockets.

There's lots of different options. Jacket pockets, handbags, bags, etc. Let's just say that I will not be playing 'pocket billiards' with anyone soon.
Going back over the demo it's virtually all jacket / cardigan / bags that are being used so that's cool. My order is in. |

I am looking forward to receiving my order on this. Just one question: when you say "pocket", are you referring to the back pants pocket, front pants pocket, front shirt pocket or jacket side pockets?
