Don't worry though Ray as the spectator will never talk to anyone in the audience at anytime so no fear of anyone at all knowing 2 different things were taking place etc hahaha isn't that right Tom?

I've got a script that automatically remove anything the person above writes, so on the offhand chance he ask or say anything worthwhile that require my input, someone else have to repeat it.

I've read many dual Reality effects and virtually all had at least some element of Instant Stooge. Colin McLeod's Bookless Test, for instance, I would regard as an almost entirely an Instant Stooge effect, because the person on stage is fully aware that they are seeing a different effect to everyone else, and that they are playing along with something the rest of the audience don't know about. With Factory Blanks, I assume what Ray means is that, although you can (and probable should) give a close-up view of the blank side of the cards to other spectators to create the impression that everyone sees the same thing, the participant may well realise that the dual reality exists. When the person on stage holds up their card to show the audience and it gets a laugh, I suspect they will often be aware that the rest of the audience perceive that card as being entirely blank. Not that that's a bad thing, but I think there's an element of getting your helper to play along with the premise. I think this is a great tool and in my experience it has proven 100% reliable. |

Nothing wrong in any of my posts here, just people can't handle it when confronted - as in many examples in this thread and others. I am more than happy and man enough to admit when wrong (like I have many times) and also compliment others when they are right - but there comes a difference between opinion and fact. I'm not saying I'm always right and never have like implied, but when it becomes a battle of facts and truth based on evidence of posts and what has been written to prove my points etc etc, then yes I'm 99% right. |

It's been awhile since any posts have been made on this (man, the time has gone by fast, seems only recent). It seems like a really great pseudo hypnotic tool. Anyone using it for that effect. Is it working out?

I got this today and when I think about performing this it comes to my mind that this could possibly work as a mentalism effect for both - the spectator and the audience. after showing the deck from a distance and the double blank card up close to some persons in the audience which will let them think the whole deck is blank I can imagine telling the single spectator that this is what a deck looks like when the colors are not printed yet - as someone came up with in this thread. I then will let the spectator pick a card and let him show it to the audience as well if he likes. Not sure yet if I should say something like "maybe one or another person will see your card as well". So when I reveal the spectators card, I will first let him think of the color of the card he has in mind. Then I first reveal the color and after that the suit, before going for his exact card. I could imagine that guessing the color first could give this effect more strength as there are definitely no colors. And for the spectator this would make sense because (when he i.e. went for the 7 of hearts) he in most cases knows the color of the suit. This will maybe outline that this card only exists in his mind.
What do you think? I'm just brainstorming a bit. |
