I have been practicing Daryl's Rope Routine for a show coming up on Friday and noticed that my ropes were getting dirty looking. So no problem, just clean them.
I decided to use OXY-CLEAN, it did a great job, they look almost brand new! However, it "cleaned" the white glue off the ends of the rope that kept the rope from fraying at the ends!! Well, I guess I'll be re-gluing the ends today. That is one powerful cleaner! Mark

Mark! TUCK the ends.
wrote up the "method" in another thread in this forum, eons ago. I can't think of any reason why tucking the ends would interfere with Daryl's routine. Hee hee! You illusionist guys! (You can paint the boxes, but, ya can't paint rope!!!!!)

Oxy-Clean has Peroxide in it, that is how it whitens.

Thank you for your posts. They are ALWAYS very helpful! I have read your posts regarding "tucking" and one day I will tackle it. I plan on making up another set...hopefully soon which I will "tuck" the ends! Mark

Mark...10/4~!
Glad to be helpful! I'm still using a set of ropes for Prof. Nitemare that I made up in early 2000. I retired in 2008, so they have over 8 seasons use, and, still look just fine. OCCASIONALLY, I need to tuck one strand back in! I'm sure that you'll be pleased with the results! On the road, I would just toss them in the laundry, and dryer. Dick

I wash mine also with a little Clorox to whiten.
But I just hang mine up and let them air dry. Todd |
