I'm reading complaint about the fact that the gimmick is something everyone can make easily ? Maybe, it's a good thing no ? If it's something you can't construct yourself, you'll have to buy the gimmick once more.

Just wondering what you thought of Slacks' - if you have bought it as it's a SM product like Egyptian Ink. I am not going to start up a whole new thread to ask one question. As always PropDog show why they are one of the most respected and trusted dealers in the UK.
It's not all about sales for Dave and his team. See the warning they have on this product: http://www.propdog.co.uk/Egyptian-ink?search=Egyptian |

Hi Everyone.. I do not post here that much. I mainly observe. I am a beginner and I perform mainly for friends and family. Not paid pro. Anyway. I love this trick. I list this probably as one of my top 5 of all time. seriously, it is that good. Could care less about the talk on the trailer, also don't care that much about the gimmick. I already found a place to get (refills) that is sooooo good. Hobby Lobby btw. One could argue its a tad overpriced, but I love instantaneous magic, with everyday objects or very small gimmicks that I can carry with me. I will not be leaving the house without this one. Love it.

But for a working professional at a corporate event or wedding especially standing up it doesn't look clean towards the end. I mean 360' angle proof as shown on the DVD Trailer? Yeah right!! Also the gimmick is worthless! What you said 'a tad over priced' is an understatement - it should be a PDF or Adobe download for say £10. What your paying for is the secret! SansMinds had a cleaver idea but once again rushed it through without spending more time thinking of other alternatives for the clean up! To even call what you get as 'Gimmick' is a little misleading and dishonest as well. |

If you cant clean this up at a corporate event or wedding, you might want to stick with tricks you can do with a regular deck of playing cards. Any trick that uses a gimmick there is some clean up. And this one is perfect and minimal. I like this one so much I do it to myself and watch it. haha I cant get over how simple this is, it is brilliant. Guys anyone with half a brain will take this idea and run with it. Use your own patter, make up your own ending. the Method is what you are buying and it is good. I love it. Could SansMinds of done better. Yep and should have. But should you look over this one? Nope. |

Gosh! Even the gimmick isn't worth anything. Perhaps if they supplied a sharpie, more of this 'gimmick' and double sided tape etc it would be worth £15 but even then that would be a little pricey for what you get. I mean there is no engineering to this at all and where is their live performance where you see the SansMinds team do the clean up? In fact I don't even think the gimmick could be found in poundland that it's so cheap, it's not even worth £1. I will just be using this to make the signature /name appear and disappear and then do a French drop so their signed coin appears then the whole coin disappears or what others suggests - it saves doing the clean up after. They will eventually find out that it's not their writing!! I know if I was an audience I would want to take a coin/card and sign it myself in my own hands and if my signature vanished from a coin/card to another my gut instinct would be to focus my attention towards that coin/card where my signature has moved too. But that's me and I am sure that's a good percentage of lay people. But - you like it and that's good for you, perhaps this effect is for you. It's not for me and some others that's all so we agree to disagree on this. |

Why are you assuming people have rigid sets? Many people perform various illusions depending on who and where they're performing. When I get a new effect I like I don't have to remove another. I'm not a pro but even the pros I see change things up regularly. You wouldn't want to hear a comedian tell the same jokes every performance nor would anyone want to see the same magic.,
And Supersmooth, do you just like to see yourself talk? You don't like the effect. We get it. You've rambled on about it a dozen plus times. Let it go. Not only that but you seem to be using some of what you learned in your purchase so it's disingenuous to say it's useless. It just didn't live up to your expectations but you still got some value out of your money spent. |

Yes Slackering is right about not having rigid sets . I'm a busy working magician and throughout the years I've not had a single set that I stick to all the time . I like new things , and when I got it , I like to test and try it out in my next gig immediately . This doesn't mean this trick will replace anything in my set forever , it just means that I'm temporary taking something out and adding something in . Maybe I'll include it in my set , or maybe I'll put this somewhere else . I change routines to clients' interest all the time , mixing and matching things to suit the theme or event and to achieve a smooth flow through the the performance is the most important thing . I've performed Ejyption Ink with my own handling at my latest events , not to every single one though but I can assur you that it's not as bad as some of you think . It actually achieved quite a spontaneous reaction from the signature transposition ( on coins ) and from the final phase . I quite like it now but I still have the same problem ... The requirement to purchase new " gimmicks " and to prepare them is a long process , that's all ...

Ok, so I went to a party last night and performed egyptian ink for the first time to a crowd. I agree with supersmooth on one point, I don't think this should be done with 360 spectators, so I positioned myself with a 180 degree crowd. After I did the transpo, the guy who I was showing it to said "omg that's amazing" he then said "Did that surprise you that it worked?" then laughed, I don't know what he meant, the rest of the crowd ooh and aaah and clapped. It truly was a great reaction. then the guy handed me his quarter back. (I did this with a quarter and a gold colored us dollar which is slightly larger than a quarter) no one asked to see the dollar with his signature on it. I was prepared to give away a souvenir, but didn't need to. They saw the effect and it was over. I loved it. The point being sometimes there will be no need at all for a clean up. I just smiled, took a bow and returned both coins (and gimmick) to my pocket.
One more thing to Magician560.. your comment about preparing gimmicks is a long process. I don't know cause I am new here how much I can say. I don't want to give away the secret from sansminds. I respect the manufacturer. But much talk has already been said about replacing the supplied gimmick with your own. I have replaced it with something I bought at Hobby Lobby and I don't spend a lot of time making gimmicks. In fact I am using THE SAME gimmick over and over. This thing will never wear out. and to top it off, I could make 1000 of these if I wanted. Again I like this a lot. Rod |

I agree you can knock up the required gimmick very quick you could easy make 500 for about £5 based on current Amazon price But no way you can use the same gimmick again and again And I don't think you could do this all the time without the clean up That is what most people are complaining about the totally misleading Advert Only dealer to edit this is MOM rest are breaking UK law |
