For the last four months I have been practicing the bill to marker as an addition to my close up show. I loved the perfect Bill tube but hated the reset. This does the trick for me. I used it for the first time the other night and got to keep the money each time. In some cases it was a $5. All in all I made $18 in tips on just this trick. If I make another $82 I will have it pay for itself (as I paid an additional $30 for more markers). This is a great trick. You do the work and it will pay off not only in money but satisfaction.

This looks really interesting. How does it work not using a sharpie like people are used to

A marker is a marker.
Reality is a real killjoy.

Use this marker for everything. Do not use it only for this trick.

Ya I get that part. I was just wondering if you've had people look at it weird

I was tempted to get this as anything with Nick's name on it is good but to be honest I'm quite happy with Richard Sanders effect Cramped which is similar in effect for next to nothing cost wise.

I imagine it depends on the people. Not everyone is observant enough or cares what the marker is as long as it signs the bill. If someone where to ask, have a stock answer ready like, "you know that marker reminds me of the British lady who gave it to me one day when my marker and it's backup died. She told me it was very common in Europe, like a sharpie is here..."

Only a magician would think a Sharpie was more normal than any of the countless other brands of markers out there.

Exactly MeetMagicMike. I use a Sharpie, a Bic marker, a number of over sized Sharpies, markers from the dollar store; whatever happens to be handy.
No one has ever questioned me about not having a Sharpie when I was using one of the other markers instead.

To laugh at someone for their preconceived notions only shows ones own ignorance

If you were offended by my remark then I truly do apologize but I did think you were being facetious at first glance.
Because I don't believe this to be a general pre-conceived notion, it is a notion only a magician would worry about. The average person is not "used" to a Sharpie, magicians may be used to Sharpies. As someone else stated earlier, a marker is a marker. Although I admittedly wouldn't do this effect if hired to perform at a function put on by Sharpie. But to answer your question, the brand of marker is irrelevant, it is still an impossible location regardless. BTW, you can get this effect made in a Sharpie however I'm not sure if it comes with Nick Einhorn's instructional video. But note that it is the larger sized (and less common) version of Sharpie so it may still create some anxiety for those worried that it doesn't look normal. But just use it throughout your performance and no one will ever notice or care. |

Thank you. I don't know why or when I started thinking everyone only uses sharpie markers for the most part but I did

I noticed on the trailer that Nick rolls the bill into a thin roll before doing the vanish. Do you think you could load a bill folded into sixtieths into the marker load chamber? I was thinking if you could do a bill change or bill vanish using a TT and then load it directly that would be great. Please let me know. Thanks.
