Francis - I have used the following with my young daughter - would work well with a younger sibling too. This happened by accident and I have used it a number of times since.
While out to dinner with my brother and sister in law, my 5 year old began pretending that she had a deck of cards and proceeded to have my sister in law pick a card, look at it, put it in backwards, etc. (She has seen me do the Invisible Deck too many times !) My sister played along. When my daughter was done, I jumped in and told my daughter to throw me the deck which I "caught" and which somehow became visible. I asked my daughter how I could tell this was the same deck she was using. She replied that her aunt's card would be upside down. I went through the deck, found the card and my sister in law was stunned. The most surprising reaction I got was "how did your daughter do that?" All the heat was off me and the deck! This question is asked more than one would think. The best reward is that my daughter gets to part of the "act". |
