Does anyone know if Tom has released the spoon to fork effect he performed on masters of illusion?

What's the name of the effect? All I can find is his static kid routine.

Nope, did not find it on Tom Burgoon website.
I thought Axel Hecklau invented it. http://www.axelhecklau-shop.com/lng/en/m......etc.html |

Charlie Checkers, could you expand on your statement, please. What spoon to fork effect are you referring to, just the process of changing the spoon to a fork, or the gimmick that Alex Hecklau makes.

Bill - I recall seeing Alex lecture maybe eight or so years ago. In it, he discussed Spoonaround. If my memory serves me, it was -a---t gimmick like others before, but he introduces the new various handling and such. Perhaps I am off on this, as I purchased it and played around with it a bit, but never much more than that. I do recall a discussion at the lecture where some were questioning how much he added to the effect.

Okay, I never heard of any Spoon to Fork trick being on the market in the 1960's and beyond. Not that I knew every trick back then, just the major Dealers. I think the working is kind of obvious to magicians, but it is not them this trick is trying to fool. I did not think much of it when I seen it on Axel Hecklau website and still did not think much of it when Tom Burgoon do it last Friday nite on Worlds Greatest, but every trick is not for every performer.
I was curious if you were to referring to a switch routine of some kind, so you think it was a gimmicked set previously. Of course, previously could have been a 100 years ago, and Alex Hecklau, has brought it back, which is good for magic. |

I just found this Spoon and Fork Mystery from El Duco Magic. Don't know anything about it, but it is a transformation effect.
http://www.el-duco.se/en/articles/2.173.......-mystery The Fork & Spoon Mystery is the perfect routine for your table hopping act, but you can also do it stand up with no use of any table. From your pocket you take out a cloth napkin wrapped around a spoon and a fork. You show the cutlery to the spectators and you can let them hold them in their own hands! Show the napkin empty. Begin by telling them that this is the latest game from Hollywood and Las Vegas. Take the spoon and fork and wrap the napkin around once again. Pretend to shuffle the fork and spoon and take out one object in your hand and hide it so nobody can see which one you are holding. Leave the other object in the napkin on the table. Nobody can tell which is the spoon and which is the fork Now the spectator has to guess what you have in your hand. What ever the answer is, show the spoon for a moment and cover it again with your hand. Now they KNOW what you are holding. A magic gesture and the spoon has changed into the fork!!! The spectator removes the napkin from the fork which has changed to the spoon!!! Everything can be left on the table. The routine above is created by JOACHIM SOLBERG, a leading close-up performer in Scandinavia. He also teaches you the basic routine. What you get: - the DVD with two different routines. - the special fork and spoon - a white cotton napkin - a written manuscript. |

I asked Tom Burgoon after a performance to buy The Spoon Fork trick.
And he said he was keeping that one to himself. This was a few years ago. Yes, that is a good trick.

I bought static spoons from his website. There are restrictions on where you can perform it. I believe they are no TV appearances and not at the Magic Castle.

Are you referring to Axel Hecklau's 'Spoon Around'?
