I always practice to music so sometimes ill catch myself midway through a killer air guitar solo then I have to find out how I got there from working on my diagonal palm shift

Someone had to tell me that every time I perform a strip out action with a pack of cards (whether it be for a false shuffle, an angle separation, etc.) I sniffed through my nose multiple times as if I had a cold--as if somehow this would cover up the move or the noise from the move.

I wave my hand s in the air when talking when a show gets going well

I record myself while still looking straight at the camera, which is funny because whatever I'm practicing just doesn't work if I do that.

Since it's no longer clear to me fi you're asking about habits or vices, so I guess I'll have to answer both to be eligible?
Habit: Riffling the corner of a deck of cards nervously to fill space rather than being still.
Vice: watching too many lectures over practicing.

Since I usually don't take part in any criminal activities involving prostitution, pornography, or drugs when I practice or perform my magic, I interpreted the post as asking what my magic habit is.

Murphy's and I know the difference between "vice" and "vise." Here's another definition of "vice," and I believe Murphy's used it correctly for this contest: a minor bad habit.

Yes, "vice" can be a bad habit, but it tends to be more of the "smoking", "eat too much chocolate", or "spending a lot of money on magic effects" kind of bad habit (a guilty pleasure), rather than the "I drop my coins too much" or "get distracted easily" kind of bad habit.

JPrace: Perhaps I misunderstood the effect, but from the video it seemed like it was presented more like a "look at me squash this in my fingers" (vise grip) than "I eat a lot of mints, they're my guilty pleasure." But the entire effect wasn't shown, so it's possible that's in the patter and I just don't know.

Either way, it seems like a neat effect.

Years ago my wife pointed out that every time I loaded a cup in my c+b routine, I closed my eyes. Needless to say I eventually corrected the vice/habit.

I often practice coins in the shower, always end up in there for half hour too long haha.

I get celebrities to sign cards when I do magic for them, and after a card to mouth, I keep the card myself as a souvinerar XD
VICE LOOKS DOPE JEFF!

My vice is the 52-on-1 gag ... I have it appear 3x in a show (through various forms), which in turn almost serves as s callback / running theme.

My vice is telling the kids the magic words are "JJ The Magician" and keep asking the kids what the magic words are when doing a trick ! I get a real high and the kids will forever remember my name!

My vice is after I use a spectators hand for a magical effect.... I eat their hand to destroy any evidence of anything happening

My vice is always criticizing myself when performing, telling folks, "Now I am going to try to do this but I am not perfect. And well, if my wife was here I'm sure she would tell you the same thing"!

I'm a hobbyist, more than anything, but my vice is...I need to rub the house-rabbit's foot before I practice or show my husband what I've been working on. Petting a pet is always relaxing and, in this case, it's lucky. Twice as lucky, actually, as the foot is still on the rabbit.

When I palm a card I always say "LOOK!"

My vice is that I always practice in front of my cats. This is extremely difficult when I float things and they see a toy.
