Does anyone know the official name or creator of the following packet effect? It features four cards with candles, and with the help of a lighter three of the candles become lit with a flame, while the fourth turns into a birthday cake.
There's quite a few video clips on youtube, where it tends to be posted under the name "Happy Birthday Card Trick". Here's an example performance: I've seen different artwork used for the cards, as shown below, but would love to know more about the correct name and origin of the effect. |

So has anyone ever seen this effect, or performed it?

Topov, I agree with wanting to know more about this. I saw it a while back and am interested in it, but would like to purchase it from the proper source of course. I will be following this thread. Jay

That's very helpful Kynean, thanks so much for sharing that!
Although it's worth noticing the wording of the description: "BIRTHDAY CARD MAGIC: Frank's handling of the birthday card packet trick. A brilliant routine using just four cards and one very strong emotional hook!" That does seem to imply that this is just Frank Zheng's handling of an existing effect. Another review of Frank Zheng's Jump also describes it as "Zheng's handling on a marketed item" (that particular reviewer actually considers his handling "ridiculously contrived"). |

Hi everyone,
I am willing to get the cards only, and it seems like the only places I can get them from are aliexpress.com, and dhgate.com. I am wondering if anybody has any experience with these sellers, and/or knows another place to get them from. Cheers, Oz. |

Someone I know who ordered the Birthday Card trick from aliexpress received defective cards. They promised to replace them, but never did.
Use with caution. |
