Looking for some help regarding the prop "Change Cap" by Creative Magic. It is a change bag disguised as a baseball cap. Very clever but also discontinued. Every online store I find lists it and then says out of stock or discontinued. Anyone know where one of these can be found...new or used? Thanks....Aaron Radatz

Change bags are frequently improperly used as the focus of the magic trick. Example- using a change bag to change a blue silk into a red silk focuses undue attention on the bag and the average spectator thinks :"Hmmm! Obviously a trick bag". Proper use of a change bag would be to switch a batch of random billets collected in the bag from spectators to identical billets that have a force message written on each one. No change is perceived; billets go in and billets come out looking unchanged, therefore the focus is on the prediction/mind reading/etc. If you plan to use the baseball cap in that way, just to collect items and switch them for the same type of items which have been modified in some small way, then any baseball cap can easily be modified to make the switch. To discuss it further requires more information about your purpose and private (secret) conversations.

Radatzmagic, when you get 50 posts you will be able to list your request in the Let's Make a Deal section of the Café. Maybe you can find a 2nd hand one.

Bill, I've known Aaron since he was a teenager (a FEW years ago!)
Aaron...I'll put a note in the "Let's make a deal", and, PM you if anything comes up. I suspect that the change cap was not a big seller, and, is not being made anymore. Too many prefer the "red velvet bag on a stick"!!!

I've also seen Change Caps (Creative Magic) being sold in various used magic places. Besides the Buy and Sell area of Magic Café, there is the Surplus Magic Exchange (SME) Group on Facebook, etc.
I own a few myself (I was a Creative Magic "Portion Holder"), but I'm not selling any at this time. But there are other performers out there with extras, too, who are willing to sell. You can likely get an unused one (in new condition), from someone's portion holder collection. Creative Magic made and sold thousands of them, before the remaining stock was distributed into portion holders hands. I once read in an article about Creative Magic that they had to throw out hundreds and hundreds of caps because they weren't made properly. So, they were very particular about the item being a good quality. (This happened with some of their other items that they had made "en masse" as well. Some of the batch was great, and some wasn't up to quality. And they checked over each item after it came from China or where ever.) BTW, Creative Magic did NOT close their doors because their items weren't selling well. They were very successful. They did the "Portion Holder" method of closing their doors / distributing remaining inventory, for other reasons. Read the articles that were published in MAGIC Magazine and other places, or just get to know the owners on a personal level. One of the new ventures that Brian has started since closing down Creative Magic is called "Discover Magic", which combines a magic class with life skills. I think that Michael Ammar might be a partner in this venture. http://www.discovermagic.com/presenters-more-information Another venture of Brian's is called "Teach By Magic." This existed around the same time as Creative Magic, and continues on. http://www.teachbymagic.com/ - Donald P.S. Dal Sanders does a routine in one of his lectures that features 3 of the caps. It's a 3-card monte type of routine, with a poker chip or special item put into the hat on the table, where the kid wins and the adult fails (like a teacher vs. a student, or a parent vs. their child). Funny!

Hey Donald! "YOUSE" have provided some good news for my friend, Aaron. EH! Thanks!
Years ago, my pal, Gene Gordon (one of the founders of the I Bother Magicians Association) sold a "Quiz Show" routine for father/son or mother daughter parties. The adults always got the "hard questions" and the kids got the easy ones.

BTW, if anyone doesn't know about the "Portion Holder" Deal that Creative Magic did, and is curious, watch the 5 videos at the bottom of this webpage (these videos first aired in June 2011):
http://www.creativemagic.net/Finale/deal.htm The portion deal was announced in June 2011 (and snapped up within the next week or two), and the 8 shipments were sent to portion holders from about September 2011 through July 2013. So, it's been over for a while now. And like I said, the company ran successfully for several years before it was portioned off. It was founded in June 2004. You can also search on The Magic Café, because there have been earlier discussions. - Donald

There is one left in stock at The Magic Emporium in Tampa, FL. I saw it yesterday when I had stopped by for supplies. Not sure of what size it was. It's not listed on their webpage, but I'm sure you can call them to inquire about it.
