EVERY serious card magician wants to do memorized deck magic, but many are daunted by the time and effort required to memorize a deck. But what if there was a way to memorize the pack in 15 minutes? Now there is! Two memory experts (outside the field of magic) have created an odd but wonderful product. It's an ebook with gorgeous paintings that tell an outrageous and, thankfully, unforgettable story. By reading the story, you will AUTOMATICALLY memorize Tamariz's Mnemonica Stack. How cool is that? https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic-......ry-arts/ |

No, but I'm tempted to get it just to see if "even a 6-year-old can learn how to memorize a shuffled deck of cards."

Or if you have an Android phone, you could do worse than download this free app: MemDeckPro
Excellent app for any memorized deck. Many settings, very intuitive and ads free.

I used Memo Deck for iOS when I first learned...best money I ever spent on an app.

There are at least 2 iOS apps. I used them all. They both work great. Took me about 1 month of learning when ever I had the chance, low stress and the apps made it fun and easy anytime I had a free moment.

Exactly - what I liked about them is that you weren't learning just the sequence of the cards, but rather the instant recall of position of a card or card at a position which is what you really need to master using a memorized deck.

Just went to the site and checked it out. I've already committed the Mnemonica stack to memory, but this looks intriguing. I bet you it's a real whacky story.

I don't need it as I already know the stack, but have bought it anyway for interest only.
If anyone needs help then this book can help you learn the Mnemonica stack. It also shows you how to memorize shopping lists and phone numbers etc. Beautifully illustrated and highly recommended. :-) P.S. within a couple of minutes I noticed 2 misprints in the book but you can take note of that and it won't be a problem: On page 58 shows 3 - 7 H (It should be 3 - 7D). And it shows 19 9H (and should read 17 - 9H) on the same page. |

It also shows 20 - JD which should be 20 - JH. Perhaps most disturbing is that the math used for the explanation with an odd number is wrong (dividing 22 by 2 is 11, not 12). Consequently, this leads to the wrong card (21 - 6H should be 21 - 3S). It is an interesting way to learn a new stack or a even a random stack in minutes, which is what I wanted to do.

Sarah here! I am so sorry and embarrassed about those errors! They have been fixed. That page was done as a very last minute addition for the Special Edition and did not get edited with the rest of the book. Again, I am very sorry! We are so pleased that so many people are finding success with our system. To everyone who has purchased a copy, thank you and happy memorizing!

Question to those that have this. Do you actually learn card at what number and number for which card?

You still have to make an effort to put image to card, or location to number. As far as systems go, it is neither unique nor new. It is, however, a pretty good start because everything is spelled out in pictures and storytelling. And if you aren't familiar with the suggested images, you can substitute your own. For instance, I didn't immediately recognize the suggested images for numbers 2 and 3, so I substituted it with images that I am familiar with. In my case, I already know the Tamariz and Aronson stacks, so I was looking for a quick way to memorize a shuffled deck in a few seconds. I believe this system might make that possible.

Perhaps you could fix the errors for the pdf versions of the book and supply Vanishing Inc Magic UK https://www.vanishingincmagic.co.uk/magi......ry-arts/ with the updates for those who bought this pdf book through them. Many thanks. |

Just bought the e-book, haven't had any chance of reading it yet. One minor negative point I noticed right away is the background color/texture on every page. Makes it a bit hard to read on the computer. Also the pdf is not text, but images, which means you can't zoom too much without the text becomes blury. If you got a retina screen the text looks a bit blury even when zoomed out fully.

Does it works only for english speaking people or is it possible to transfer the system to another language.

So I used to know the Joyal stack but stopped using it, forgot it and never seemed to be able to remember it again, or any other stack for that matter. Don't know if it's an age thing (I'm a very old looking 21) or what, but no stack stuck!
I saw this advertised and picked up a copy - I liked that it was already designed to help learn Tamariz and was very visual. It's based on some fairly standard memory methods, very clearly taught and well constructed... but there's also some really clever stuff, specific to remembering playing cards, that I've never seen before - and it's immensely effective. This book not only describes EVERYTHING you need to know to remember the Tamariz stack in a highly visual way but it also gives you the method and the groundwork to apply this to any stack you choose to learn. It's wonderfully illustrated throughout which is part of the key to why it works so well; the images in the book just stick for me: The key to memorizing the stack using this method is in constructing highly striking, memorable scenes on a journey. Each of these scenes is illustrated wonderfully, one per page and this is where the magic happens... I read through each of the value images - and then every stage of the journey... JUST ONCE... and it STUCK! WOW! So I took a break, tried to recall all of this later and I COULD DO IT! This got my juices flowing, so I tackled the first ten cards of the Tamariz stack by looking at and remembering some of the scenes in the book... That was about an hour ago now and I'm going to try to recall them here, without looking at any cribs or anything. Here goes... 4C, 2H, 7D, 3C, 4H, 6D, AS, 5H, 9S, 2S I honestly just did this fairly. Admittedly I took a few minutes to recall the cards but I did it without cheating. Now I'm going to check against the stack list to see how I did... 100% I know some of you might sniff at that and not believe I really did this with one read through (others may snort and suggest I'm pathetic for not going for 20!) but this is your loss, not mine. This system is just brilliant and it's so well executed. I absolutely LOVE this. I'd love to have this as a small pocket-sized booklet as well as an ebook though; I'd like to reference this on the fly as I'm commuting etc, and testing myself on the deck. It'll take me a little longer to remember all 52 cards but I bet I have them down pat by this time tomorrow and then the next step is building up speed. This book has given me a massive bunk up to the next stage - it's taken past the mental wall I'd hit and for that I'm eternally grateful If you don't already know a stack, would like to learn one but feel daunted or intimidated by the task at hand, you NEED this book. You will not go wrong with it, trust me. Highly recommended, quality product! Great work!

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the eBook version and the physical one offered on Amazon?
