Hi all,
Hans Moretti's sword box is the best. I had the priviledge of sitting in the studio when Stevens Magic shot the video of his performance for his video line. When viewing most illusions, you are quite a distance away. I was all of ten feet away (which is really close for an illusion show), and it was still a fooler. Have a good one, Bob Phillips |

Hey all;
to me the zig zag will always be the best. I have done it up close, surrounded, with volunteers, it just drops jaws. By far the best. Magically yours, Matt Kielbiski |

The Wakeling/Selbit sawing. It has to be the most mystifying of them all. Can't wait to add it to my show.

WayneNZ: The Wakeling Sawing is the book "The Magic Of Alan Wakeling" by Jim Steinmeyer. Hope this helps.

Okay, it's "old school" illusion style. But anything performed by Richardi Jr. Having the luck to catch him on three different occasions, he was single handedly, for my money, the best illusionist I have ever seen. So, in his hands, the best illusion and/or illusions I have ever seen, were not the illusions themselves, but the performances of the illusions by Mr. Richiadi.
Richardi Jr. validated the Jack Gwynne quote: "You have to be bigger than the box." If you can, lay you hands on video of Richardi Jr. do so, it is a treat. I have a very old television special hosted by Christopher Lee, in which he performs The DeKolta Chair, Broom Suspension, Temple of Benares, Aga Levitation and a collections of other illusions and stage effects. In his hands, they were the greatest illusions I have ever seen. |

Please forgive the typos above. Trying to write faster than the brain works. Which isn't hard these days.

It did everything you would when you were flying bar flying round the audience his heads. This is stupid comment as it wasn't possible so why should he have to face stick for nto doing it. He flew like superman and like you would if you could. My favourite illusions are: flying greg frewins dove act- hope that counts Siegfired and Royys appearing and vinishing of an elephant. I really love Jim Steinmeyer´s "Walking through a mirror" which I believe was first done by Henning and Copperfield also performed it. Granted, the actual effect is kinda short but the effect is very direct and beautiful. Andre Kole´s steel penetration is also very cool.

To me S&R's Girl to Tiger at the opening of their show Effing RULES I defy anyone to show me a better girl to tiger. and the metod is disguised very well in that all plexi box.man I loved S&R I urge everyone to buy their DVDs. Also I saw a video of Steven Diamond doing Floating light bulb. I liked it a lot and it doesn't swing unmagically. and the ending for the routine and show is awesome!

For me it's Copperfields Buzz-Saw - For some reason, I have two versions of this recorded from TV. The original was the best, but then later someone redited it and changed the music - all I can say is "Why?".
(And please, please can't something be done about those dreadful TV shows that show "Edited highlights" from magic tricks and illusions.) I was also impressed by Copperfields "Snow" which he finished his show with in London some years ago - a surprising decision at the time as his "Flying" was certainly the most talked about piece of magic at the time. However "Snow" was a brilliant piece of theater - what a finish!! |
