Hi all,
I am surprised that I cannot find any page on recommendations of impromptu magic with pens (please direct me to a page of there already is one, as I have a feeling it might be my computer playing up). I would love to hear what your favourite routines are with pens/sharpies and maybe with coins as well. I have pencyclopedia so know a lot about flips move but don't know if there are any other good sources for moves and routines. I have seen a pen being used as a wand with coins, but don't remember where so if anybody has any ideas about what and where that might be, that would be awesome. Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

I posted my “Pen Coin Routine” on the Perverse Magic thread of the Genii Forum on November 23, 2003.

The effect basically is that I approach a receptionist or a cashier in a restaurant and curiously pick up their pen and say with surprise, "There's a quarter in here." And I pull out a quarter. I give back the pen and look at the quarter, take the pen again and push the quarter back into it. Again I take the quarter from the pen and again put it back into the pen and then give back the pen. Finally, I take the pen pull off the cap, shake the cap and out falls the quarter. I give back the pen and say, "I guess I can keep the quarter since I found it."

Gregory Wilson has a nice pen routine on Penguin live lecture.

Pointless and Re-Cap by Gregory Wilson

Pointless uses a gimmick, but re-cap is completely impromptu

I'm still partial to X-finger.

I also often perform pen sleeving and flipstick vanishes

I really like the knee bounce change from Marvelous Pencycopedia. Also, Son of Recap by Apollo Robbins is pretty slick.

Another vote for pen sleeving- surprisingly good

pen up nose/ in ear, out mouth is fun. I don't know whose work it is though?
