My twin sister, Tracey, aka The Scary Librarian here at the Café, is having a significant surgery tomorrow- complete hysterectomy. She had an undected appendicitis last year that nearly killed her. Appendix ruptured and that led to an abscessed ovarian cyst, all combining to tangle and stick things together in a fine mess in her abdomen, with some adhesions to the bowel included. She had the appendix removed finally last year and now is going forward getting the rest cleared away, except for the kidney stone that's been staying put since last year, too. That'll be taken care of later. Here's hoping she'll be feeling much better soon!

That sucks to have to go through. Hope it all goes well and without a lot of "side effects".

My mother had that operation, with all those complications, in 1940. It certainly wasn't easy, but, she lived to be 89.

I attend Mass almost every day, and, we have special prayers for the sick. Tracey is on the list!

As Dick said, it is not as traumatic as it once once was. . Prayer and good thoughts your way.
