During the I.B.M. convention in San Antonio, Texas this past July, Rick Heath was part of the talent roster. He spoke to the members of the Order of Merlin during a breakfast meeting. That speech was broadcast a few months ago and you can go back to listen to his talk on episode #302 ( http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwell......nvention ). But after he spoke to the entire group, he joined me for a private chat for about an hour.
We talked about the history of Le Grand David and his Spectacular Magic Company. He spoke at great length about its founder, Cesareo Paleaz, and how he moved to the U.S. from Cuba, his struggles, and how he overcame them and founded the magic show that set world records for the longest running theatrical magic show. Rick was the artist-in-residence for the Company and was responsible for painting the scenery and props plus creating the beautiful posters that live on. You can watch a video of our conversation (recorded using Facebook streaming), view some photos, read the blog, listen online and download the MP3 file at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwell......ck-heath Be sure to subscribe to The Magic Word Podcast so you don't miss any episode.
