I'm looking to purchase smash n stab but can't seem to find it anywhere. I've bern looking for years.

Also, what are some other dangerous effects like smash n stab and risk?

They can be found but I am not going to say where. Why? So tired of watching YouTube disasters.

Here is Scott Alexander's version:

Smash n' Stab is a particular products name, it is not generic by nature.

Here is another version:

As you did not mention any requirements for yourself, I will leave the rest to you to find.

I appreciate your time but I did research this and neither of these are Wayne Dobson's Smash N Stab

Pillowman,
Perhaps you're asking the wrong question when you do the research.
Go to (magic shop) Five of hearts Magic (Colin Rose), there you can find "This is your knife" by Wayne Dobson.
I guess that is what you're looking for?!

I did my research. I'm looking for Wayne Dobson's Smash N Stab set. Not "This is your knife". Thank you for your help btw.

Now, knowing what you want and from whom, perhaps an e-mail or a phone-call to Five of Hearts. Perhaps their daughter Natalie will answer.

Looks like Five of hearts has them both in mini, jumbo and regular. Take John's advice and contact them and talk to Natalie. I'm sure she'll be able to help.

Many dealers have the mini, Penguin Magic and others. You did not say which size you are looking for, and if you want to by in the UK, or U.S.

My recommendation is to totally AVOID disasters BEFORE they have a chance to happen, period.

I prefer using Scott Alexander's "Shatterred" for the Russian Roulette type effect. No way you can hurt yourself or a spectator.

Scorpion ( http://www.outlaw-effects.com/store/the-......ion.html ) is one of my favorite versions of this trick. The spiked ball - while probably less harmful than a single spike - looks far more ominous.

I also like Randi Rain's Tetanus (scroll down... http://www.raincloudmagic.com/magic ).

Both have a creepy factor that add to the risk of the effect in my opinion.

This version is in Scott's Midnight Show. I saw a video of Dan Watkins performing this, and it created significant stress to watch, and is very entertaining. And, as stated, you can not fail and it is easy to do. If I remember, your props will however cost you about $300, but they are fully reusable.

Pillowman,
I recommend Jon Allen's 'Pain Game'. Totally impossible to injure yourself performing his version.

Not totally impossible Tony, but the probabilities are close to impossible.

Though not Wayne's version, I'm rather fond of (and perform regularly) Jimmy Fingers' Smashdown. It's inexpensive (order the PDF download from his website), no fancy/expensive props. Indeed, when I'm performing for a younger set, I substitute spikes with eggs. To allay safety concerns, use Safety Net or similar.
